Last night we just had to watch Chicken Little. I like how they mixed elements of 1950's B films with modern elements into a Pixar film. I think my favorite part was when they created the crop circles in the corn field. Too much fun. :)

Why thank you very much lady, most appreciated. :)
I'm contemplating the idea of finding a similar pair, maybe a tad larger. and convert them into sunglasses. Since my Rx is for reading & computer use, getting Transitions lenses would be useless, but a plain dark amber lens would be perfect...
New popularity?...
Judging by the brisk sales of boater/skimmer hat on ebay & the prices that they are going for, I think the popularity of this hat is on a rise. These things are getting top price even if the seller starts out low. The bidding wars on boater/skimmers is pretty amazing...
Finally finished off Death Note on Cartoon Network. Great anime & manga series. I actually liked the end that they did in the manga books better but I don't think it would have translated to animation & the story on tv that well.
All in all, not to shabby.
Cheers!

Pilgrim Boater
Well here is the Pilgrim that I recently won on ebay.
It was a shade on the snug side when I got it. But, with a small application of steam from a tea kettle & a hat jack I managed to get enough stretch in it to fit just right. I will eventually have to get the sweatband...
Here are my lookinpeepers with my B & L vintage frames.
I've been quite happy with these. Of course being tired when the picture was took gave me a bit of an Alvin Karpis look, oops. In any case, I love how light these are.
Another pair I had gotten had the lenses glued in & the lab mu...
Great first post Mark. And, welcome to the Lounge. If you get the chance please take pictures on one of your next excursions up there for a meal. Would love to see them.

Fashions of 1934 with William Powell & Bette Davis. A fun little romp of a film that was on TCM tonight. It's a shame it hasn't been released on DVD yet. Maybe a few e-mails to TCM could get it released on a TCM Classics collection of DVD's?
And, it's a musical to boot.
Cheers!

Greetings Programs!
Flynn as the villain could just be Flynn's "Clu" character running amok in the System. I love that it isn't 100% CG, and that the characters are in costume with lighting, albeit better looking leather costumes. One thing I noticed in the teaser trailer was that the riders...
I really liked what they did with Road to Perdition. The look, feel & mood was just right. Makes me want to go & get the graphic novel it was sourced from. The Rooney mansion set was very beautiful to behold. All that wonderful art deco woodwork throughout. And then you see how John Rooney's...
Here is the teaser trailer that was shown at Comic-Con.

Disney has been pretty busy lately. I've been waiting a long time for this one. I'm surprised & a bit pleased that they are showing Jeff Bridges character as a villain. Well...
Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead. Fairly entertaining. I thought The Doctor was going to get a new girl, but with the new Doctor looming around the corner I wasn't surprised when they parted ways.
Then it was two episodes of Three Sheets on the Fine Living Network. What a fantastic job he has...
You remind me of a man...
This last weekend it was 'The Bachelor & the Bobby-Soxer', 'Love Crazy' & 'Coraline'.
Enjoyed all three very much.:)

Just won the Pilgrim Boater that was on ebay. Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to copy the image address. So I will have to wait & take some pics when i receive it. At any rate here is a link to the finished auction.
Vintage Men's Straw Boater Hat
The crown of the liner looks to be a bit...
The one thing I loved about this film is the beautiful neckties peppered throughout the film. I can't wait for the DVD so I can screen cap some images to send to Magnoli to see if they can be reproduced. :)
Cheers!

Rest assured, I will take copious notes. Hopefully Neil remembers & comes through to bring back some shining examples to sample. It's something we'll do in late August or September. I'll be sure to post my results when I can.
Cheers!
