Hi Scott
True, but shamelessly bought 'for stock', as it were.
It would be lovely to keep it, but not this time.
A decent GW replica, on the other hand... :-)
PM sent John... ;-)

Dear Loungers
With apologies for the poor images (screen grabs converted to JPG), this is the jacket that Andrew Swatland kindly (and unselfishly) highlighted on the VLJF last week.
It's not in the country yet and a fuller review will follow once I've had a chance to look at it more closely...
Hello Loungers
I picked up an original Doniger jacket last night (another McGregor - this time with a label - that Andrew Swatland highlighted on VLJF) that has all the hallmarks of an AN-J-3, but I'm woefully ignorant of these (and other Naval) jackets and I'm trying to do some research on...
I posted images of a couple of original A-2 jackets by Perry Sportswear a little while ago. Perry Sportswear (of Newburgh, New York) produced two A-2 contracts from the fiscal year of 1942. This is a copy of the older, smaller goatskin contract (W535ac23377).

If I didn't know better I'd think that the label had been moved... ;-)
Thanks for the image. I stand corrected and can now say that I've seen one centred (every other one that I have seen to date - including the four 23377s and a 16175P that I've owned - have had the label centred (i.e. with...

I've been chasing up leads on the VLJF, but had no luck yet.
I've checked measurements and it's the 44 that I need.
Last call before I get in the GW line...
The colour is darker in the Timeworn version that you see here, but that's not typical - it was a darker batch made specifically for retail outlets.
The hide in both jackets will be practically the same in terms of softness and drape - both will age quickly with wear and show character.

The first post is the 'normal' stock ELC A-1. You'll be fine with this one, trust me.
Mine was exactly the same - it'll age beautifully (and be soft as well).
Pull the trigger on that one.
Cheers
Ian
