90% of my purchases come off ebay
flea markets and antique shops rarely have anything
dealers at shows are all over priced
ebay is still the best source for most of my purchases
the seller only takes money orders / cashier's checks
if the seller does not reply in 3 days I dont have to pay for it.
yes, I used the ebay messege system
I won an item on ebay a few days ago and I sent two messeges asking where to send the money order and they dont reply? the invoice only has the sellers name and city, zip code, no street address?
maybe the seller doesnt want to sell because I won it for the the first bid?
smells from the school cafeteria
I remember asking to use the rest room, and as I was walking outside I remeber the nice smells of the food being prepared for lunch by the friendly cafeteria ladies
I could tell what was cooking by the smells like:
chili
spaghetti
beef & gravy over...
what are some of the excuses you have heard for a buyer not sending payment?
my latest one
I am sorry, we have had problems here with an elderly father [wont last much longer] I asked my wife to send payment, I just called her and she did not. I am sorry, I will send payment this very day...
I was at the library and found an interesting reference book with lots of early photos of America and saw a photo of a man standing in front of a ST LOUIS lunch room with a big sign in front with the daily lunch menu of the day [circa 1900] with prices
SANDWICHES LUNCHES
Fried Spring...
thanks for the info :)
thats nice tio hear that they are probably pre 1940 , because I collect turn of the century WW1 era items, they probably also wore these back around 1917 as well
I just received these by a friendly ebayer that included it with my purchase as a gift
are they men's or ladies? what are they called?
they appear to be made of a some type of mole cloth? with leather straps with a metal buckle
I rather go up a size, I never buy small sizes, you cant keep your high school young man's size forever ;)
small sizes become useless, if you put on a few pounds, big sizes can always be layered with underclothing, or have room for comfort
Ive been wearing a size 44 regular A2 since 1991...
the foreign made copies of the USN peacoats are cut fuller than military issue peacoats
if your a big guy, I would recommend a foreign made copy of a navy peacoat
because military issue peacoats have a tailored fit in the shoulders and are made for slimmer body types.
no, I think it fits you fine
going down a size will make the shoulders and back fit tighter, restricting your freedom of movement while driving or operating aircraft, you need the room so you can move around in the driver's seat or cock pit.
Gen McArthur's A2 has a full fit for freedom...
the A2 goes better with a shirt and tie, because of the sleek button down shirt style collar
the G1 is also well designed and has a "bi-swing" back for better freedom of movement, and also has a nice inside snap button map pocket, and a heavy duty brass zipper with USN marked wind flap
for...
1940's food
I was watching some old B&W 1940's movie and remember the man was enjoying his breakfast, I think he was having,
scrambled eggs, kippers, coffee, toast
