If you’re going Five Star, send in your jacket and have them remake it exactly in the goat that Mr Proper recommended. This has pretty consistently worked, like with the Guidemaster Wolf jacket and others.
The horse raises it to a point where you’re diminishing the value proposition and it’s...
Les vestes Lost Worlds sont un peu plus petites (à même taille) que le 618.
Par exemple, le Buco Ryder en 42R est entre le 618 en 40 et 42 de poitrine.
EDIT: Forgot to add English.
"Lost Worlds jackets run a bit smaller (at the same size) than the 618.
For example, the Buco Ryder in 42R is...
Yeah unfortunately due to Iron Heart UK strong arming its way from dealer to official monopoly on all sales outside Japan, we’re stuck with the specific fit/aesthetic preferences of Giles and Co (not to mention the price hike). It’s fine with some items but the super long denim jackets are a mess.
As 5* gambling goes, I haven't seen a military shearling from them yet that's turned out badly. The hide seems to be consistently excellent too.
The issue of course is that shearlings are not exactly year round jackets…
I should repeat that this isn't personal. We have someone joining up every year who absorbs way too much TFL way too fast and then comes up with theories, starts sourcing NOS parts for jackets (while still not sure of what kind of jackets work for him), memorizing tannery names, etc, and...
It’s beautiful. All of the ‘base’ hides were, which felt like vindication of my long held feeling that these vendors know what they’re doing when it comes to sourcing.
Most of the contract jackets I saw were actually in a more naked, more TFL friendly cowhide. But the smooth shiny top coat one is the same price so that's what I'd go for. My experience is that those with wear will top pretty much anything.
I would call these pleats, not darts. There's a stitch there that's being used to gather a larger amount of material into a smaller opening. A dart simply nips in material. In other words, it does the exact opposite thing.
Show me the darted coat sleeve, ideally leather. In years of coats of...
(Not sarcasm.)
You're very into putting darts in places where darts aren’t normally used! Surely if it was advisable it would have been a common thing in tailoring. Darting a sleeve would wreck mobility. No need to reinvent the wheel; just study what good patterners already do. :)
