Most of our Activists do not like farmed animal either. Even for food they are STRONGLY encouraging a true vegan diet (with out ANY animal products. IE Cheese, Milk):eek:. Unfortunately as crazy as it all sounds, MANY Politicians are signing on to this sort of thing....:(:(:(:(

I am waiting for them to ban ANY animal hair products, skin attached or not.....then not only will fur felts go away, but........so will wool........and then they will act all surprised, like it was an unintended consequence......then never QUITE get it all resolved.......THEN we are stuck with...
Just now finding this post. Your hat is much older than everyone is suggesting...."Airway" is a label of the Caradine Hat company.....they sold a LOT of different straw hats. I have other ads of theirs too.....
That is one of their Optimo hats..........They were quite know for their ventilated...

Here is a mid-50's "Premier Quality" Mallory Ten "Pliafelt". That felt is some of the thinnest finest felt I have ever handled.......Stetson must have let them "work their own" for a while......

Well, I have finnally got around to adding ribbons to a couple of hats that either arrived without or just needed a new one.......
This Resistol "designer" navy blue velour hat from the early 70's arrived without one.......though it showed evidence of one of those narrow woven felt ones I do not...
1940's Ladies Hat box as shown in this 1944 ad. It came with the ""Freedom Fashions" card inside!:eek::D No hat (or woman) though......but was filled with the tissue paper......

Beautiful hat! I see it has had a sweat replacement and Strongly likely a liner as well. This hat is I am sure not a Standard Quality, though of the era..... Stetsons "Standard Quality" was their low level (for them....sold gennerally for $7.50 with a price reduction to $5 in the early 30's)...

I have been wearing my early 50's Lion Hats Playboy clone a lot lately and keep playing with the crease.......:rolleyes: My wife would call it a modified "Steer head"...
This is a new hat that allowed me some nice latitude in creasing......
