Thanks man! It is breaking in nicely, lots of lighter brown notes showing through. I have better (at least I think so) photos in the Johnson leather thread.
The waist and hem was brought in by about 1.5" so it's much slimmer now.
The length was not altered, I'll have them shorten the waist...
I picked up my JL brown cxl today. I had it slimmed down at the waist and hem as the initial fit was not ideal. The trimmed version feels and looks so much better.
Initial fit photos
Wearing my reworked (slimmed down at the waist/hem) JL brown cxl jacket today. Also dropped off the Aero STF BL tobacco badalassi at JL to be slimmed down and have removable tan mouton collar placed
No problem at all man. Hard to compare the two the Horween black overdye car coat was split to make it easier to wear. The Horween milan is a little stiff but still soft. Up close and personal I like the Horween overdye but that's just my personal preference as I don't like a matte finish. It is...
The Horween black overdye they are using for @TheDonEffect car coat looks so good. It's not dull and flat, there's some sheen to it too. I didn't want to take a photo of it since it is not my jacket but the leather on that one looks very nice.
JL will source 3-3.5 oz deerskin too in January if...
Yes, please do and maybe make a thread about it too? the medium browns are cool, I think it's going to look better with time too as patina would show more compared to darker jackets. Some of the members here swear by the dark oil tan shinki they use as well and if I get a himel it will be in...
Didn't get to see the wescos in olive but I do imagine it looks like one of those worn java trumans that looks good when the nap starts showing through. I've been interested with waxed flesh, it's basically a rough out right? That was waxed so should be more water repellent.
The benzein I...
Welcome here to the lounge, needless to say you are starting of strong! Hot damn those are cool jackets to have, so interested to see what you think the difference is between those 2 medium brown shinki that your ordered. Hope you can share more of your work here
The Milan is nice, it's a little stiff but still soft to the touch. It's not shiny in real life but still not as flat as the overdye. I'll take a photo of the jacket they have on the shop when I pick up the brown cxl jacket they are trimming down for me.
This fits better on you. I'm sure @dudewuttheheck got this jacket made with you in mind. Congratulations on a great pick up. Tobacco badalassi is so cool! Enjoy the squeaks!
Yes, I saw his too and that looks lovely. I'm sure it will be okay if you wear long sleeves but wondering how the feel is if you wear a t shirt. He also has that trucker motorcycle jacket with the zipper that looks cold as hell. Good luck
Yep that matcha core moniker is catchy and quite beautiful when it starts to fade given the example on stitchdowns account. I just hope it fits me well.
Thanks for a smart tip, I've never had to resole a pair of boots so I've never had to think about that added cost.
