Danish of course. And Swedish too - they are very close. Just like Norwegian. That was 3!
German - understanding it better than speaking it fluently. But when I am there it gets OK after a while.
And french and italian just enough to get by...
And then I can say "stick a finger in your throath"...
Yes it is the pre-war model. As you can read, I gave it the soaking treatment twice in order to get it like that. The sheepskin tends to be very fluffy - almost like after using a hairdryer - when new. And the surface of the jacket was too much on the shiny side - to my liking. Now it has the...
Not much. Or practically not. Depending on how much you use the tumbler - and the temperature of course.
But if you feel it's getting too dry or too stiff - give it a light coating of Pecard. That should solve it.

Finally something I know just a little bit about - watches! :-)
To the best of my knowledge, the top pictures shows how it was done in most cases.
But - as you see on the other picture - a more normal strap were also the case.
Saw this link on VLJ - finally the Bomber Boys of RAF get their touching and very impressive documentary.
I am definitely going to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

Did the same trick with my Aero Irvin. But I did it to get a better look and feel. As new it had very fluffy sheepskin - almost as made with a hairdryer. And I wanted it to be more flat and curly. As a nice bonus it also shrank to a much better fit.
(If you look back in this thread - page 70 -...
Got a russett brown - close to what Eastmann calls a Havana Brown - horsehide and a seal brown goat. For some reason the goat is the one I use most. It's nice and soft while the horse took some time to break in. And it's still a bit on the "heavy side" - even after 10 years.
My thoughts exactly. The waist part seems newer - or being another kind of leather - than the rest of the jacket.
The knittings have probably been toot old/torn and have been renewed by wrist closures as well as the waist part. And while they were at it, they changed the zipper and put in a...
When I ordered my Irvin jacket, I was told by Amanda, that I had to wait several months (4-5 as far as I remember) before they got their new sheepskin supply. So I knew up front.
But when they finally got the sheepskins, the jacket was delivered three weeks before the fixed date :)
it's all about perspective. If you want to make a movie about planes of different types scattered all over the sky, there is no other way.
But these people - the pilots, their families were real people, who talked with each other, who had fun, who were scared.
And yes - they flew Mustangs now...
I am sure he would! :) But if he - and the scriptwriter - had decided to make a movie with less planes all over the sky, it could have been just as dramatic with some real good actors. But unfortunately it looks like its one of those films where the action overshadows the actors. :) But let's...
Of course everybody is free to do what he or she likes - but having a Eagle Squadron badge on a RAF dessert war uniform is just not right.
ES were - as others all ready have said - in UK only.
Why not flash a Australian or New Zealand shoulder badge instead?
And remember: A sweaty "bushjacket"...

Thank goodness the pilot parachuted out and is OK.
But I fear that sooner or later somebody might try to put an end to air shows. And what a shame!
