I just picked one of these up on ebay. Leather & fairly solid, not a bad deal for around $9. My old one from my days back in the Marines finally gave up the ghost & blew out a zipper.
I was looking for one that was like the one my Pop has been using since 1950 but the only dead ringer...
The Fox Theater in Paso Robles, CA. It was gutted by a fire back in the early 80's & efforts to retrofit the building have all been cursed. Seems like it never gets off the ground. Several local big money people have bought it with the aim to restore it & then the plans all seem to fall apart...
Bummer! Was hoping that it would at least be a decent go of it. Well I suppose it will show up on AMC in the near future, we'll have to maybe check it out then.
Cheers!

I alway listen when someone older than I speaks. You never know what part of history they may share & if you remember it they are at least immortal for that much longer. Some stories I've heard from WWII vets have been amazing. The way they tell it, it almost makes you feel as though you...
Well, my Grandfather on my Mothers side used to run numbers in Chicago back in the 20's & 30's, possibly for one of Capone's rackets. Although he didn't have direct contact.
I'm finding out, through some of my Pop's dementia ramblings (he's 81 now with Parkinsons), that he ran with a...
That's the tough thing about photographing red colored anything. Red absorbs light & thus takes on a different hue or color altogether. Even the one Johnny Depp wore in "Public Enemy" looked either black or very dark brown in most photographs & it was an oxblood.

So, who let him out on a day pass anyway? "Writing lessons" is right. Before he starts throwing stones maybe he should pony-up and show us all a really good example of himself in an "A" outfit instead of pulling examples of others. Oh well, what can you do? We just "own"...
Maybe six more weeks of rainy winter weather will raise Nacimiento Lake up to a normal level instead of the piddly 31% it's at now. The last rains raised the lake 24 feet & brought it up to that 31%. So, bring on the rain Phil, I welcome it.

I've been on the look out for a pair of Algha Windsor frames in about a 40mm size. Silver with the tortuga covering around the frames. They'll be my secondary cary around glasses, since I only need them for reading & computer work. I don't alway carry my regular pair with me.

Picked up one of these Converse denim shirts the other day at Target.
I like the styling of it, it has the throat latch collar, and an darting down the back that creates a slimmer look. Also, it has the higher arm holes I like in my shirts which allows the shirt to move with me. It works...
It always feels good to get compliments. I was at the grocery store yesterday (I had on my grey Camptown/Penman Fellow Traveler) and one of our locals that I see around town all the time paid me a kind compliment. He said, "I love that hat! Is that a fedora?" to which I said thank you and yes...
I ust found out a funny thing. My brother-in-laws middle name is Pernell. He got that from his mother because she was a huge fan. He should have never told me that tid bit. ;)
Cheers!

Robert B. Parker wrote the books that became the Spencer for Hire series on TV & the movie Appaloosa. For those fans of Spencer for Hire it is a sad curtain fall.
