Hard to tell from the face, but if that is an automatic that should be a CAL. 19A (you can tell by the subsecond hand). Looks like it has ben kept in pretty good shape for 45 years. :eusa_clap
One of the most accurate pieces in my collection is my Longines Grand Prix CAL. 19AS. The only...
We had just recently watched Crystal Skull again. The more I view it the more I like certain elements. But, I think the one thing that bugs me the most is not the Nuclear Fridge or the flying monkey Mutt in the jungle, but Mutt's ride. His bike. A classic bike lover like me noticed this error in...
Top Secret! & Airplane! on TCM last night. Glad they had those on because I needed a good laugh after this week. I just love spoof movies like that with plenty of sight gags & witty comic dialog, even if they are cheesy. :)
Cheers!

Well folks the 12 Bridges Gin is a hit. It is a good blend of London Dry Gin & Danish Genever Gin. It is infused with cucumber & melon, just slightly so the fruit notes are in the background. Now, to my taste buds I picked up a note of a little brineyness, sort of like inhaling foggy sea air...
Well, the Drizzler arrived yesterday. The fit is perfect. I typically wear around a 46. Typically when I get something from, lets say Gap, I have to go for an XL, this one is a perfect fit in a Large.
This is going to make a nice warm weather jacket & look mighty stylish to boot. It's a good...
Our thoughts and best wishes to a speedy recovery are sent your way CJ. Sweet looking lid my man, you wear it well with confidence. That's a lot of love sitting atop your head. Keep up the good fight and hurry back.
Cheers!

On sale!
I found a McGregor Drizzler on sale at Restoration Hardware of all places. It was normally $79 but they had it on sale for $21 with $6 S&H. Not a bad deal. They only have the stone & dark blue. Sort of found it by accident. Was Googling for a Drizzler and went to the images section and...
Memoirs of a Geisha, Empire of the Sun. Those are two that first come to mind. Modern made period films. The Quiet American, both the 1958 version with Audie Murphy & the 2002 version with Michael Caine and Brandon Fraser.
Seven Years in Tibet was rather enjoyable.
Anyway, those are ones I...
Not sure of the year of this car, but it appears to be a Buick Roadmaster. My guess is 1949 but I could be way off. In any case I like it, it is one of my favorite models of car from that era.

'How the States got Their Shape' on the History Channel. Very interesting learning & history. Like the eastern portion of Tennessee was for about 4 years the State of Franklin. I always love learning about stuff like that, makes me a more well rounded person.

Think Hunter S. Thompson, then you get the picture regarding the dreadful shades. ;) I agree, those shades are bad, and may work on JD, but not many else.

Ah, what a fun film. Picked this one up at Target a while back. It was part of a four pack of films I think put out by TCM. It also had Meet me in St. Louis & Band Wagon. The music & the dancing numbers were top notch. This is one of my warm & fuzzy must watch films.
Cheers!

I'm looking forward to this one. It might not be as out there as Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas but it should prove very interesting.
So it appears that it will be directed & the screenplay done by Bruce Robinson. The only one I remember him directing is Jennifer 8, a little mind bender from...
Here are some pics from the set. So far from what I can see here Colleen has done another great job with the costuming. This is some stuff I think I would like to wear.
Dig on the motorcycle & side car. I think this is the bike that they should have used in Crystal Skull instead of a half-baked...
And from what I've been seeing around both fabric weaves are making a new comeback. I see it on OTR suits in Kohl's regularly. Still not common, but making it's way up.
Cheers!

Bump!
Here is an article on the clothes of the film & some more pictures. The articke says that Malone's coat is a Norfolk Jacket in a brown twill tweed. It seems to have some elements of a Norfolk but not all. I guess similar to a Keepers jacket without the shoulder gun pad...
