Another original slice of unobtanium (this time from Sigmund Eisner & Co.) - I'm really getting into this contract.
The images aren't great, but they've been reposted from a Japanese blog.
Currently waiting on my Willis & Geiger NA-1 from the US, but already contemplating selling it on and...
I haven't any images of me wearing the new jacket, but I do have some of John wearing it prior to sale:
Compare this with my previous Good Wear A-1 (old domestic US cape - no longer available from 2008) and now in the US:

I've posted images elsewhere on the FL of the cape with a test Type A-1 from John (with waist buttons and a single button collar).
The new cape is heavily/regularly grained (unlike the older domestic cape that he used in 2007-2009, which was thicker more irregular and more amber/tan in...
A Japanese friend of mine checked that one out for me a month ago. Your images have essentially answered your question as you have the price/info tag (and the jacket remained in the shop following my enquiry ;-) ).
I got very excited about stock number MT-96 (unpriced), even contemplated what I...
In my experience (I have a Good Wear A-1 in this cape), the grain looks exaggerated initially but will quickly settle down/flatten with wear and/or water to relax the leather.
This one is a used jacket (purchased from an individual), but I think that you're confusing The Few (from RMNZ) with Real McCoys Japan (the two companies have a history, but are no longer linked), which does feature on John's site.
They don't seem to garner as much interest as e.g. a B-3, although they appear to be a more practical jacket in use. Similar situation to the AN-J-3/A-2 I guess: the latter is more wearable, but the former is more iconic.
Here's one (two available from Jeff, this seller):
A-2 A2 Flight Jacket Goodwear Dubow 7155 Size 46
Item #: 330861539239
N.B. he mistyped the contract (1755).
Yes, assuming the pattern works the selection of the cape is the crux of it (for the drape). ELC has the best source of it at the moment IMHO in the A-1 market (although the LVC Menlo/Cossack that I've seen is very good indeed using Italian sheepskin). The GW/SFA cape is a good hide, and it'll...
I don't want to re-initiate the ELC vs. Aero A-1 comparison as it went downhill, but I am a strong advocate of the GW, ELC and SFA A-1 patterns, but the Aero A-1isn't in the same league for my money.
I know John is up to his ears with a full order book (12-15 months at last count) so it wouldn't surprise me if had stopped taking orders for a while. He has done this in the past.
A second hand GW (plenty of 46s around) might be a quick way in during the interim.
If you're going for an ELC...
