This is a Boot review of the White's Otto Vintage Line "packer boots" that I purchased new in the spring of 2017. These were purchased from Willie's Shoe Services in Northfield, MN as I was traveling through the area. He is mostly a shoe repair shop, but also has a line of White's Boots in...
Yes, I agree with the others here. Nice jacket to find, but I would do the "right" thing and at least put a note out for a while and see if the person who had it comes looking for it.
It it was clearly -- "in the trash" that might be a different story.
Welcome to FL! It's a great place here...
Yes, Chip Shortages, this has most of the manufacturers really stalled.
The Bronco is growing on me. The idea of a turbo 4-cylinder with the 7-speed manual in a 2-door model would be rather unique and fun. But Car and Driver is only reporting ~ 17-20 mpg tops. Wish they would offer a 250-hp...
Not sure I'd say "Hard Pass" but like any more complicated vehicle, these are going to require higher maintenance and repairs, both frequency and from a cost perspective.
Being in Southern California, you should have many good independent European shops around who can maintain this truck for...
I see you are new here -- if you are really looking for hiking boots, Engineer's are not probably a first, second or even third choice. Engineers are well known to be "standing" boot not "walking or hiking". My own personal experance with them would confirm this.
Take a look over in the...
Ha! I had sort of forgotten about a Star Jacket. It's only ~ 22" back length. It would be hilariously too short overall.
If I ever run across a 44 or 46 for a really low price, I'll pick it up, maybe...
Just received this pair of 350V's back from White's repair service - just had upper eyelets replaced for speed hooks. It was $18 including shipping back to me and they provided all new packaging, new false tongues and laces! Great value iMHO.
This model is the Division Road Collaboration...
Ok that's a lot clearer now. Dena could work some magic on those sleeves -- but likely taking a donar jacket [part out another one for the black horsehide] and make this into a really nice piece. But I think your idea is best -- hang it on a wall at a place where this is the vibe.
With those...
Wow! Looks so much nicer than the ebay photos showed it to be.
Quite the collectible treasure there, has quite the story all it's own.
Does it fit you, Terry?
This is great advice and something I wish I could live up to. It is true there is considerably more character in these old vintage pieces than any reproduction piece.
There are two strikes for me regarding vintage jackets overall that keep me from diving in further:
Fit to my lanky - 6' 1"...
^^
That's a great privilege!! And indeed, you have good taste here and would spend the money on items that have great intrinsic value, as well as simply are excellent products.
Yes this is a slippery slope, and many have sailed much further down it that I have. There are plenty of great...
100% agree. It's easy to treat this similar to a Regular Highwayman verses a Premier Fit Highwayman. The numeric size in these cases does matter quite a bit. I am a 40 in a standard Highwayman, and a 44 or even 46 in a Premier fit HWM.
