I posted the above on another sweater thread: I am seriously thinking of getting this one - the natural light grey version - although I already have an almost embarrassing number of (mainly military) wool sweaters.
A few years ago I started a thread about how much I disliked the 'Regards' signature, a relic of the 1950s which had at that time suddenly returned to work-related letters and especially emails here in the UK. Unfortunately I upset a Midwesterner who was certain that Regards was the only valid...
That is very, very nice! It has a lot in common with the Guernsey. I also love the shade of green. A very welcome Xmas present for you, I am sure. It goes on my short-list (although I am running out of room to store all my 'manly sweaters').
I'm enjoying wearing my oatmeal ('New Natural') Guernsey today, as worn by the Desert Rats! I think it's the Army associations of this sweater that give it the edge. ...
I have some sympathy with what Edward has said because, yes, there was too much emphasis on sport when I was at school. However looking back on the overall experience, I'm glad it was an all-male environment because boys/young men learn better as a group and with older men as instructors. This...

Yet another possibility for this winter: I did have one very like it years ago and it's got a nice rugged manly quality. For late winter, early spring and Fall.
As I said in my previous post, it wasn't that we didn't get along. It was just that he was quite formal, exact and literal-minded in his approach and this made me more inclined to be cheeky. He was relatively young and had the same sartorial taste as me: he usually wore corduroy trousers and a...
This year my interest in Guernseys has revived and I've worn them on quite a few occasions: usually Navy, Oatmeal or Army green. Fortunately I can wear a sweater at work and this Fall/Winter I've been alternating between Guernseys and My trademark Woolly Pully commando sweaters.
Flyhalf_Keith,
I very much agree. I'm a great fan of Norwegian wool sweaters and have a few of them in my wardrobe. Great for outdoor wear and feel great too.
It's the sort of afternoon here - damp, grey, drizzle - when we would hope a Rugger match would be rained off but almost invariably wasn't! We often had to continue in pouring rain. ...
I notice that the word 'twink' has quite a rich history: there's even a 'backronym' - I think it's 'twenties, white, into no kinks'. It is, it transpires, British in origin, although it is now used in the States.
The founder is a great model for the sweater - I am going to go for the...
The company founder is a far better advert for the sweater than most of the twinks used as male models these days. He's rugged, manly, outdoorsy: what could be better, especially for this type of product.
I hope you're wearing your sweater with great enjoyment. It's a nice Woolly Pully day...
