... And there was I thinking it was you! I like the fact that North Sea Clothing use a ruggedly handsome male model with a lived-in face who looks as if he's as happy in the open air as in the city. It makes better advertising than the youthful androgynous types you get in some of these...
That's useful to know as I have just received their discount.
I agree that the Pick submariners were thicker and woollier than OKW's. My Silverman's sub matches the Pick quality but it's about 15 years old.
It wasn't so much that we didn't get on but I just stretched the boundaries a bit in his classes and was cheeky!
Running round the fields as a warm up was doubtless healthy but it could be gruelling.
Thanks for reminding me just how good that sketch is. I remember being cheered on by my House master and sometimes my form master from the touch line and it really added to the pressure.
Most of the Monty Python team went to this type of school and this inspired a lot of their humour. It's funny because it's a (slightly!) exaggerated version of the truth.
One other somewhat esoteric aspect of all this was the 'friendly' matches that took place every do often between masters and boys. The atmosphere of these games was burlesque and anarchic. I remember tackling my form master and bringing him crashing to the ground. He was ex-Navy and supposedly...

Yes, I do have one of those in a kind of Derby Tweed (but slightly darker) mad by Barbour. And I have a dark brown WP with thick suede patches made by OKW.
Re. the Dutch WP, I think I gave it to charity when I grew out of it. Not as good as the UK version but I liked it.
Re. the 'eskimo': similar to a Dutch WP I had about 20 years ago. Thinner ribbing than UK version. Darker green as well - a bit like the Moss Green I'm wearing today!
I
i'm on the train at the moment so I shall look at the link later. I think I'd like to get a Howard Green.
Today I'm wearing a Moss Green WP from OKW.
