Since it's a wedding, a certain modicum of formality is appropriate so I'd go with a spread collar and a solid color tie with a pocket square to match. Do you ever wear a hat around the house?
I almost always put one on when I'm headed outside to work in the garden and I'll leave it on when I come back inside, at least until I'm ready for lunch. I eat bare headed. And any restaurant that wants me a regular will have hat racks. There's one in town. -

Actually there are only two places to absolutely, completely dead stop someone. Right under the nose (hits the base of the brain and shuts down all vital functions immediately) or just above the lower ribs to either side of the sternum (the kidneys).
