Curious, I have always wanted to do such a camping trip and what a better place to get such feedback than here.

If there was Camping Trip where everyone attending wore 1930s clothing (obviously clothing meant for the great outdoors) and stayed in period 1930s tents, would you attend it?

If I get enough positive feedback on this I may just host such an event next spring. I'm thinking somewhere the Southeastern part of the US.

Well I would but I do a 1940's themed camping even pretty much three or four times a year already.

Now can you combine a vintage camping trip with a vintage motoring trip through the Great Smokey Mountains?

Sounds like it would be a fun event. Any thoughts on the theme or location? Keep us informed on this.

I do a 1940s style camping experience several times a year as well. LoL

I dunno about a vintage motoring trip with it, dont get me wrong it would be cool, but I feel too many people would want to do more of the motoring than the camping you know? I'm just looking at doing a simple 1920s/1930s era camping trip, period clothes, period tents, everything of the period, just a good time.

There was an episode of "Gilmour Girls" where Rory's rich boyfriend and his friends got together and had a kind of golden age camping weekend. I can't find it on youtube, but I'm sure it can be found without too much trouble. They even wore evening wear.

Well, the reason I picked the southeast us is because there's lots of golden era things to do up north, lots on the west coast but not a lot in the southeast, but due to the warmer climate it makes the south east favorable for camping almost year round, so what a better event for the southeast than a golden era camping trip?

I very much doubt I'd be able to go. Much as I'd like to. So count me in as going with you in spirit. You've got some Golden Era destinations there too. I'm thinking Smokey Mountains for one.

The Broad, Reedy, Saluda, and Savanah rivers are good for upcountry to midlands float trip. Best time is from from first part of October to the middle of April. The banks of the Reedy and the Saluda have not been developed plenty of natural forest and farmland that can be used for camping if arrangements can be made ahead of time with property owners. But Strong Thermos Lake is a good place too.
