I can't stand watching people eat them and then watching them get that cheese crap on their fingers... then only to have them try to gnaw or suck it off their grubby little claws...... freakin' disgusting!

Is it hard to make?

No... you buy it already put together (which goes against my "make it all yourself" holiday instincts), and just toss it in the oven like any other regular bird. It's already stuffed and de-boned, so you just slice and serve like meatloaf. I didn't think I'd like it, but it turned out pretty good. Although I will say, their stuffing can't hold a candle to mine.

I don't think they have them for sale here or at least I've never seen one, but I'll look next holiday just in case. I think it sounds pretty good :)

I've given it some thought but haven't taken the plunge, yet. They're relatively easy to find online.

I keep hunting trophies as mnemonic devices. Eat the meat, wear or walk on the skin, admire the rest. While there may be some around who qualify as Trophy Hunters, not utilizing the meat is called 'wastage' and it's illegal in every state I know. And letting meat go to waste in a protein-starved continent (Africa!) is almost impossible. If the camp staff doesn't clean up the carcass, the nearest village will. BTW, the best meat in the world comes off an eland. Grilled over a mopane wood fire and washed down with a glass of South African red under the Southern Cross? May as well die right then 'cause it ain't ever gonna get better in this plane.

I haven't really enjoyed the ones I have tried - you can't really taste the different meats, and you get an icky fatty flabby layer of duck skin because it is the second layer. It looks impressive, but it isn't an improvement on any of the birds alone.

Boning a bird isn't tricky, just a bit time consuming. You are just doing that 3 times and then sewing it back together! I haven't done many boned birds, but it's pretty straightforward. There are a couple of very good tutorials on youtube to get you started!

I forgot to mention that we got ours from a local butcher, not a package at the grocery store. He took off the fatty duck skin, so that wasn't an issue.

Of all the cooking I've done, I've never deboned anything, so it might be a challenge.

That is nothing new really. The Romans used to stuff a goat inside a pig inside a cow. I don't even know what name they would give that today. The romans would try anything.
Some guy just showed up at the butcher with a wierd request that took off with the turducken. Hard to roast a Goigcow in todays ovens. :p
