My leather collars are wearing in this way, just as most of the vintage examples I've seen. The oils produced by human skin are rather powerful. You have only to look through a pile of old eyeglasses frames to see another example.

The Iron Society stuff: after a few months, it's not for me. Gave it my best shot. It is doubtless an excellent product, but for me, and my own hair, it's too stiff and hard to use, then after applied it vanishes fast, leaving my hair hanging in my face.

Never write anything on The Fedora Lounge that you would not say, out loud, at a quiet, upscale dinner party of mixed-sex guests, hosted by the FL management.
