I was perusing You tube and found this wonderful instructional gem.

I love to travel and have always found packing to be such a chore. This video makes packing seem so much fun, and provides really superb ideas for organization.

Enjoy!

That's kind of eerie, cos that's exactly how my dad taught me to pack! Although he isn't as crafty and never made any handled divider sheets! Oh man, he had to give me his ultimate packing lesson this Christmas, because I ended up packing in the kookiest, most inefficient way ever. And since my dad does lots of hiking and back-packing trips around the world, he considers himself the best.

One of his most useful tips is like the glove tip in the video. You stuff your shoes shoes (well, it's useful if you bring a lot of shoes/high heels wherever you go), with any socks or underwear. It actually ends up saving a lot of space in the long run!

I am so impressed with this. My aunt works for Shell and travels but I bet she doesn't travel that light! I have saved it to watch again, especially for when we go camping! ;)

My dad always said I was a crackerjack packer. I love that video. However, as the packing of the iron suggests ;) , the clothes are going to get wrinkled anyway so don't worry unduly about the anti-wrinkling techniques. I liked the plastic tray idea, I am going to try that! Nowadays most hotels even the fleabags have an iron, so use that extra space for more shoes!

Seriously, someone could make a fortune recreating those plastic dividers!

And I liked the idea of packing a shower cap. I just bought a new one after years of going without and I love it! Benefit sells the sweetest ones! I don't know how I lived without it!

I'd love to make some plastic dividers myself, they are so handy!

I am dying to find out where she got the clothesline, also. I am still amazed she was able to fit all of that into that little tiny suitcase.

Glad to have seen this video. I am going on a weekend getaway next month and now know how to perfectly pack my carry-on so that I can avoid the dreaded checked baggage! Ruby Slippers, thanks for find that clothes line! I might have to pick it up because I tend to spill things onto my clothing and stockings!

Although I believe this video has actually taught me how to pack MORE stuff and to sneak more of my stuff into my S.O's bag as well lol.

What a neat video. I'll be travelling for two months and was dreading ending up in Istanbul or somewhere and realising I'd forgotten something important, or that I'd end up leaving my house with around twenty suitcases!

Speaking of suitcases, I'd love the little one she has....sigh. Cute!

found one in Blacks camping shop yesterday for £3.50. I have it ready for the tent as we speak! I showed hubby the video and he was suitably impressed! I think it might also encourage me to get more in my bags too - that Triumph Herald is going to be seriously overloaded on the ferry! lol

Although on my penultimate trip I took an almost empty suitcase and filled it up when I got there. ;) I'm going to do that when I drive to Florida this month, I know all the best shops and church sales. I AM going to buy that 'futuristic' clothesline, you better know it. I can even use that at home, where there never seems to be enough room to dry things. When they lost my luggage last year I didn't think I'd get it back so I went to the PX and got the BEST wee hairsetter called Remington All That! I was tired of having yucky hair on a trip so I take it on every trip and even use it at home. My hair is super-thick but somehow only ten rollers work, weird. (I did get my luggage back.)

Did she really fit all of that in the tiny little suitcase? Wow!!

I'm about to start packing for a 2 week trip. I just got a big, pretty, houndstooth suitcase. I'm going to be thinking of this video all the while! I'm known for using one suitcase for clothes, and another one just for shoes!! :) My family thinks I'm nuts.
