Leather Jacket makers in the EU

Germany probably has more leather jacket makers than the rest of Europe (EU or not) combined, though many are under the radar. A few forum members visited an extremely cool one earlier this year.

    Lost Worlds Horsehide Vintage Trench

I mean what you're saying is fine for t-shirts. It comes into question even when talking about normal shirts, depending on how the yoke is designed, let alone outerwear. The yoke often plays an essential role in range of movement. With any kind of structured, tailored garment you need...

    Lost Worlds Horsehide Vintage Trench

That would be a nightmare scenario on the vast majority of garments. The tailoring rule for shoulders is that they can never be narrower than shoulder width but can (and often should be) wider. It's not subjective lol. (Not singling you out here but I think the predominant TFL view on some...

Johnson Leathers Black Cherry Bison jacket

Yeah despite going for the shrunken horsehide I did not feel that Johnson's 'standard' hides were any lower in quality or character. I think the standards are what they are for a reason.

Need to read your memoir someday, Uncle Photo.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

The core old/new before/after note of a biker club that was a social and recreational club of Greasers basically vs the new blood, drugged out and fresh from Vietnam, who want to be criminals was a great vantage point for setting up the narrative.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

It was a great film. Also a good mix of vintage and repro for the cast jackets. Some jackets looked very new, but this fit story wise (wives and girlfriends in the early years of the club with newly acquired jackets). They also did a good job of making the repro jackets appear period...

Johnson Leathers Black Cherry Bison jacket

The shrunken horse was all skived except the panels used for Canuck's sleeves, I believe. And yet despite being thinner to the touch you certainly feel its 'presence' in wearing, down to the density Canuck is talking about.

Looks like CXL in Horween's "Color 8" but I could be wrong.

    Five Star Leather Jackets

The biggest holiday of the year in the Muslim world was this week, so I'd recommend messaging again next week; you wrote at the equivalent of Christmas Eve.

Hidden in Plain Schott: the 613SH Perfecto

Honestly I had no interest in this movie despite the stacked cast but seeing that they reproed 1950s D-pocket Perfectos with Conmars for it might have changed my mind, sorry @Monitor.

Hidden in Plain Schott: the 613SH Perfecto

Wow, this is stunning. And you say it fits like the current 42 in 613H? Did you see what the collar and belt are like? How much does this run? don’t live near the stores but I can call the store I went to to ask if they could post it to me. This is my favorite D-pocket layout. Makes sense...

Hidden in Plain Schott: the 613SH Perfecto

I bought mine two years before you did and we’d already noticed some changes on yours (the mitered buckle); I assume that’s the line of demarcation.

Hidden in Plain Schott: the 613SH Perfecto

The current Perfectos have the same ≈ 4 (slightly more on the S/SH) inch drop as the vintage models actually. They were never a super sharp V. I didn’t measure so I’m not sure if it’s sized down or cut differently now. I think the new 618HH might be both.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

And then there are mid-tier lines like United Carr, which is Buzz Rickson's patterns but less military in aesthetic. Or Moduct, which is like Buzz Rickson's meets Arc'teryx. Still high end construction, but made in China.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

The above jacket is still a high end item. It's different from the mall Toyo brands and SC is pretty explicit about it being made in China, like some of the Tailor Toyo stuff.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I know what you're referring to, but you have it slightly wrong (not your fault but people doing sneaky mislabeling). Toyo Enterprises, which owns Sugar Cane, owns the rights to Indian Motorcycle merchandise in Japan. Now this merchandise ranges in quality from mall clothes (although some of...
