Yes, he truly was portrayed as having a heart and someone trying to do right in the way he understood it which was comically challenged each episode. The show also encouraged intelligent dialogue as opposed to "Did you see this weeks train wreck?"- PrettySquareGal

Regretsy has done a great job of using snark against some of the corrupt, specifically large manufacturers passing off their cheap, machine (or sweatshop) made wares as hand-made by one person on etsy.
