Am I too old for this pretty, girly dress?

I'm glad you posted this because I've been thinking about the issue of sleeveless dresses or tops for women over forty. I've decided that for me the the issue isn't one's age so much as the shape/fitness of one's arms, however, it seems that many of us over forty are more prone to sagging skin...

    Poise

How do you define it and would you say you've got it? To me it means maintaining my composure despite awkward/uncomfortable/unexpected circumstances. It's an ongoing effort...

I guess you've never shopped yard sales (or even Goodwill) where you can buy used top dollar sneakers for a few dollars. (I've never bought used sneaks.)

Nah, I'm not a lie detector, but I do detect your sarcasm which is too bad if true because I otherwise enjoy this kind of exchange. It would be terribly boring if we all agreed with one another.

There is simplicity, simplifying and stereotyping. I don't think stereotyping and simplifying can lead to "clarity" since what is true for people always involves complications, inconsistencies and mystery as to what motivates us. Simplicity is very nice, especially when discussing things, and I...

Your favorite toys as a kid?

Every year I asked Santa for Matchbox cars but I never got them since I'm a girl, I guess. My favorites (more than one) were dirt cheap or free: Jacks, my free terrarium that came with Super Sugar Crisps and the empty spice jar I used to capture lady bugs.

Nah, I think it's an accurate representation of a very bitter and paranoid view of the world. Sure there's danger, and there are those who act like ostriches and others like salivating wolves. Some pack heat and others rely on 911. But this quote leaves out the people who make life worth...

I think it's the simple reason that bad used to be bad and good used to be good. Now bad is good and glorified whereas in the past it was at least blushed upon in public, very generally speaking. For example, celebrity role models for girls: Annette Funicello vs Britney Spears.

Good role models are hard to find. That's nice that you keep in touch after all these years.

    Your mid-life crisis

Oh, thanks, but I survived it! I posted that in 2007. :) I'm loving life! It's not that the fate fairies have made things perfect and easy for me; I've gone through some painful things. But I learned that happiness is something I bring to my days and not the other way around but if they do it's...

Sears might be going belly up

With the demise of Borders, the local indie bookshops have a great opportunity to get some market-share back. Not sure how much, though, since most people seem to buy online.

    Show us your vintage home!

I love 60's/70's kitchens and would be thrilled to have cabinets like yours. My ideal kitchen is 1950's, but I have 60's flooring and cabinets (but it's a 50's ranch house), so I go with it but also with a 50's chrome dinette. Most kitchens in the 60's would have some 50's in it, anyway...
