Apparently the Van Cleef 2’s were made of thicker leather than the 3”s. From your description and what Standard and Strange have told me the 3’s are comfortable from the get go. Also, the 2’s leather was so thick the seamstress’s hated breaking their needles on the stuff!- sweetfights
