If you had a chance to travel through a TIME MACHINE for a WEEK? where would you go?

I want to go back 5.3 million years to watch the Atlantic break through the Straits of Gibraltar and flood the Mediterranean. Talk about a waterfall . . .

    Off in the morning!!!!!

Now there's the kind of country a fly fisherman dreams of. Plenty of room to back cast so you can send that Wooly Bugger out to the center of the pool with no worries about hanging up in a tree. Lovely, just lovely.

    Golden Era Camping Trip

A float trip down the Strom Thurmond Reservoir for smallmouth looks to be a treat.

Do Ladies notice a Man's shoes?

I don't know about those other sites but if I want advice about dress I go to either http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?31-Andy-s-Fashion-Forum or http://asuitablewardrobe.dynend.com/. I've yet to be steered wrong. These people also ascribe to the very distinct...

    Academic Regalia

Trying to look sober and discrete in academic regalia, I believe, misses the point. Would you expect a highly decorated soldier to leave all his/her medals off the mess dress uniform? Of course not. Where honors are earned, they should be displayed just as a professor's entire academic...

How popular is the fedora in 2011? Are hats seeing a resurgance finally?

I went to the L.A. Natural History Museum today and saw several straws and panamas . . . on women.

    Golden Era Passtimes / Hobbies

Like Nero Wolfe, I raise orchids. But being a more active sort than the Genius in the brownstone I also fly fish, bird hunt, partake of the occasional safari and grow vegetables.

    50 Unexplainable Photos

Well, if she was a tiny thing it would be fine . . . as far as getting through doorways, that is. But that is about a creepy a lid as ever I saw.

    Forbidden items in my home...

No tofu in my house, either. Or rutabagas.

Is this blazer ok for a wedding guest?

Given that SD isn't terribly warm, even in the summer, you should be fine. Since it's a wedding, a certain modicum of formality is appropriate so I'd go with a spread collar and a solid color tie with a pocket square to match. With a grey coat, you'll want black shoes, loafers will do if...

Do you ever wear a hat around the house?

I almost always put one on when I'm headed outside to work in the garden and I'll leave it on when I come back inside, at least until I'm ready for lunch. I eat bare headed. And any restaurant that wants me a regular will have hat racks. There's one in town.

    Forbidden items in my home...

Well, that's essential in Texas hunting. Either you're related to the land, are friends with the land or you pay for the land. Very simple. :D

    Forbidden items in my home...

Push come to shove, all my hobbies can be devolved to one . . . food! Now Plano is a bit out of my way, though I do have friends who live there, but we're fairly regular down Kimble way. I heartily recommend Stone Ledge Ranch. It's my kind of resort. Others may like spas or the tropics but...

    Forbidden items in my home...

I've given it some thought but haven't taken the plunge, yet. They're relatively easy to find online. I keep hunting trophies as mnemonic devices. Eat the meat, wear or walk on the skin, admire the rest. While there may be some around who qualify as Trophy Hunters, not utilizing the meat is...

    Vintage Travel Trailers

My wife and I adore teardrops and look forward to owning our own. However, for those of you wanting 'vintage' I feel obligated to point out that people were either shorter then or more willing to put up with discomfort. Teardrops built during the '40's through the '60's were, with very rare...

    Show us your Guns!

Actually there are only two places to absolutely, completely dead stop someone. Right under the nose (hits the base of the brain and shuts down all vital functions immediately) or just above the lower ribs to either side of the sternum (the kidneys). A kidney shot is so excruciatingly painful...

    Shady Oak Hat

Man, that is one fine looking hat! And they do a dress hat? In steel grey? In your choice of brim? Oooooooo, mama! Lemme see, it's already July . . . time to post the Christmas wish list!
