Great idea. Get some vintage looking ones from Juliano's. I linked to the plain lap belts, because they've got the best picture, but the lift-latch style is also available as a three-point, retractable belt like in a modern car.
I've got the plain lap belts in my Falcon.

I was really prepared to hate that Mustang, but it's really nicely done. Way better than the Volvo P1800 wagon - that thing was hideous.
Still, when it comes to hardtop station wagons, I don't think anybody beat the Olds Super 88 Fiesta or Buick Century Caballero:

Sorry to hear you're getting burned on this, Bourne. I'm awfully gun shy about farming out work, because it seems I hear way more stories like this than I do about people who were happy with their mechanic or contractor. I also have no time to do it myself, and not much skill, so as a...
No, I've been fortunate in only owning vehicles with great interiors so far. I've heard only good things about Lebaron Bonney, but they've got kind of a limited stock as far as vehicle-specific kits go (if you were doing a '40 Ford, for example, you'd be set). The EZ Boy stuff got a lot of...
How bad's the interior? Could you just put slipcovers over the tattered seats, or does it need new padding, etc?
EZ Boy, by Lebaron Bonney, is supposed to be a decent, vintage-looking replacement seat cover for budget builds.

I kind of assumed the idea came from the fact that the straw boater was common summer headgear in the early days of the FBI, so those looking at pictures of agents in those days would see them. If one wasn’t aware the population in general was wearing the same headgear, one might think it was a...
I went to visit the FBI earlier this week (not as exciting as it sounds). Seems like everybody and Wikipedia says that the FBI wore straw boaters as some kind of unofficial uniform in the 1930s (seems unlikely to me), but there certainly weren’t any in evidence circa 2011.

Anyone own a pair of these Dickies "Detroit" 874s? They're made in the USA and are being promoted as a Detroit booster. Are they actually made in Detroit?
I bought a pair of regular 874s recently on super-rock-bottom closeout from a Dickies outlet store that was closing, and I really like...
By the way, I only just realized this is a Powder Room topic. I realize I'm allowed to post here, but I apologize for barging in without knocking so to speak. I do most of my browsing through the "What's New" button.

Just so you are aware that we aren’t all that way. I am endlessly frustrated by the fact that Monday through Friday I only get to see my kids just as they’re about to go to bed - which is not coincidentally when they’re at their crankiest.
This is a big reason I’ve started looking for a...
Not at all, Drappa gave a thoughtful and respectful response to my comments. For which I thank her.
I don't necessarily agree with her statement as to whether "childless" ought to imply something is wrong with the non-parent, but I can understand how it could unfortunately be used that way...
“Childfree” is an interesting spin on the more-common term “childless”. I tend to think there’s more truth in the latter term, though. For what my daughters have added to my life, no amount of travel or possessions could make up.
I have a few friends who none-too-subtly indicate that they...
You should talk to old-car guys about Ford Model A transmissions!
I own a 1928 Chevrolet engine (last Chevrolet four-cylinder in the U.S. market until 1962), and after following discussions about how difficult it is to find the obsolete insert bearings used in many conversions, I’ve decided...
Photobucket has taken to trying to turn your photos into hotlinks back to Photobucket. I guess it's a marketing thing. You can edit out all the "<a href=" garbage and just leave the address for the photo itself between the IMG tags to get them to work on here.
