    Old gas stations

Even though I still joke about "killing some dead dinosaurs." It was very disappointing when I got older and found out, they had nothing to do with oil, it was the mighty plankton that gave us our go juice!

What was the last TV show you watched?

Six Wives. PBS. If ever there was a man that personified the saying, "truth is stranger then fiction," it was Henry VIII. If you walked into a fiction publishers office, with the story of his life, you would be laughed at, and then thrown out! Like most Americans, I thought he was a fat...

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

In our worst neighborhood, 5,000 square feet would set you back over three quarter of a million, and go up to over 1 million in a fair neighborhood!

What was the last TV show you watched?

Finally got around to watching part one of Victoria. Maybe because I had such low expectations, I thought it was pretty good. All the back stabbing was handled fairly well, condensed into a few caricatures! Lets face it, if they tried to show all the double dealing that really happened, the show...

Everybody needs a hobby: Build a Spitfire.

Sadly, I have known to many killed in Warbirds. Earl Ketchen, flying P-51 Habu. For the life of me, I can not figure out why he decided to do a second loop? Another senseless accident was Howard Pardue, in his F8F-1 Bearcat. Art Vance in a F6F Hellcat. The irony is, he had to bail out of a F4U...

Season's Greetings From The Boys From Marketing!

Funny side note, old Joseph Stalin bought several copies of The Grapes Of Wrath to show how bad it was in America. He premiered it in Moscow, which was the one and only showing in Mother Russia. The reason was, when the Russian's came out of the theater, they were all saying the same thing...

Season's Greetings From The Boys From Marketing!

The only Robin Hood type action that Bonnie And Clyde did during their lifetime, was to burn mortgages when they robbed a couple of banks! Mind you, it was only a couple of times.

Kind of sad news, the most economical way to get into a WWII fighter plane, the YAK 3 family has took a pretty good jump in prices. They are all over $400,000 now, they were under that during the Great Recession. I took a look at a YAK 3U a few years back, that's the modified YAK 11 with a P&W...

Season's Greetings From The Boys From Marketing!

I have talked to others who tell me my findings in the mortality rate of my ancestors is what they found. Tracing mine back to around the 18th century, if you take out child mortality, the biggest killer, farm accidents, easily curable ailments like pneumonia, and a couple to wars, our family...

Season's Greetings From The Boys From Marketing!

In general, if you lived on a farm that was not affected by the dust bowl during the 30s, you were better off then most city folks. Both my parents said they never went to bed hungry, plenty of pork and eggs to eat. Now, none of them were any where close to over weight, but they worked hard, my...

One thing I have noticed over the last 40 years is, the scale warbirds do not have a very good safety record. I wounder if pilot skill or lack of funds leading to cutting corners on maintenance, are contributing to fatal accidents?

Trust me, I know all about operating full size warbirds, that was my sole means of support for over a decade! The Alison is a great motor, at cruise it will burn more like 50 to 60 GPH. It also will use little oil. TBO is over 1000 hours now days, never saw a Merlin come close! A P&W R-2800...

The Big Bang Theory. Spoiler alert, Sheldon gets to draw up another legal agreement! I don't think I have meant any lawyers that get that excited.
