Vintage Lover, were you able to get the original Mafia to work in Windows Vista? I tried sometime over a year ago, couldn't get it to work, and after looking online only found posts on computer forums that further told me it doesn't work in Vista. Is there a special trick you found?
I believe this is a very valid and real challenge! :eusa_clap
To sum up my beliefs, in this day and age, there are some things society does that are far worse than NOT removing one's hat!
I wouldn't say they'll be gone that quickly. Even those "Target fedoras", and I'm assuming these are the similar ones we may be discussing in the "Modern Street/Punk Fedoras" thread, have been around for more than one season. I started seeing those at least five years ago, and they were...
I do all those things as well. Actually, when the opportunity presents itself, I do these for both men and women. It may just be me (and it is okay if it is :) ), but I see a difference between opening the door for someone, and tipping or removing your hat for them upon greeting.
Honesty, I would find some of what the waitress did frustrating. I always remove my hat when eating with friends and family at a restaurant. That said, if a restaurant were to require male patrons to remove their hats without providing a space to safely put them while eating, I would be...
Very cool looking Squatter, Yeps! It looks good on you! :eusa_clap

I'm personally fascinated by the differences in cultures from location to location. In comparison to my peers here in Albuquerque, I am actually considered rather socially conservative, as I believe in a lot of social behaviors and signs of respect that many others in my generation turn away...
I don't follow these extremes either. I've often wondered if those that follow such extremes in our present day and age might, in fact, have the opposite effect of etiquette, and instead, make someone uncomfortable. If a person's behavior is way outside of the norm of todays' behaviors and...
Welcome Indiana! What kind of fedora were you wearing in 1981? How many do you have now? Feel free to post photos, we Loungers love looking at photos! :D
Interesting article, thanks for posting it.
Reading it reminds me of the no-hat-indoors policy at my old high school. I'm a guy who understands and values some hat etiquette, however, I do think that being required to take a hat off upon the immediate entrance of a building at the risk of...
Welcome to the Lounge! That's a very nice find! I currently don't have any pedestal fans, but do have a few vintage desk fans from approximately the 30's.
