I just ordered a Balmoral. It has the same general color and brim-width as my Panama hat, which I love, with the added bonus that I don't have to worry about ruining it if I get caught in the rain. :-) I have a snap-brim Panama that I'm afraid to wear unless I know for sure it won't rain, and the Balmoral is very similar to it. I almost ordered a Balmoral a couple of weeks ago, in fact, but I was concerned I could't reshape it to a snap-brim. Is the Balmoral a good sun protection hat...- William G.

How To Pull Off A Fedora/Trilby Dress Hat
The Akubra should be easy to shape and re-shape. I've re-shaped the brim on my Snowy River several times, as well as the dents—Snowy River is the imperial felt, I believe stiffer than a Fed IV.- William G.

Akubra Stylemaster
Is that color moonstone? My grandad died before I was born, but I got to wear one of his old hats in a school play (no idea on make or model). Gray felt with a slightly darker band and a satin lining with a plastic lining protector. Your picture reminds me a lot of it. Looks good on you.- William G.

If a US President wore hats again, what would he wear and how would it effect hat sales?
Politics aside, I'm honestly not sure how much influence the president has on modern fashion trends these days. It would be cool to see a president embrace fedoras as a fashion staple—or anyone in the public eye, really—but I just don't see it trickling down to mainstream fashion without a youth...- William G.
