Flyers Intermediate G1
Generally G-1s run in a "Military fit". In other words a slim fit. I would suggest a size 40 for you in most contracts. Some of the older contracts, even in WWII, ran a bit bigger. Any cotton/canvas A1 jackets out there?

A-2 colors
This is very interesting. If most A-2s were chrome tanned, then why are so many repros made from Vegetable tanned hides? It makes sense to use chrome tanning for the military flight jackets because of the toughness and resilience it offers. I know the USN was using many chrome tanned hides...- Skyhawk

Gibson & Barnes is custom order now?
They have always offered custom service on their jackets. I got one of their A-2 about 10 years ago and they did custom work then. If they are not offering sizes though, that is new. In my experience their patterns on the A-2's are a "Modern Fit", 1/2 to 1 size bigger than "Military Fit".- Skyhawk
