    Yes W&G and some others used brown rayon on the WWII M422, ANJ-3A, and AN6552 jackets. They were not all red. Those pocket flaps are more like W&G than Monarch.     I just found a great source for Duck Canvas. Looks like we can get White, Cream, Golden Brown, and Medium Brown colors. We will probably construct our production model out of the Med Brown with the Tan cotton liner and Light brown knits. I will upload some sample shots when I get a chance.
