Dye your hair whatever colour you want. Mine has recently been bleach blonde, clown red, and black. Going back to my natural colour....
I'm a natural redhead so I am lucky :p
Yes, it was common for poor rural folk to make dresses out of old feedsacks. My grandmother was telling me -- the feedsack industry caught onto this "trend" of women using them for sewing so they began to purposely make the feedsacks in pretty patterns.
I went to high school with an Irene, had a teacher named Irene, and one of my mom's friends is named Irene. I never thought of that name as "old fashioned", but not extremely popular either.
I think names like Ethel, Mildred, Gertrude, and Agnes just don't roll off the tongue and that's why they haven't had a comeback in popularity. They sound quite harsh and not at all melodic. I also heard that your name can determine your attractiveness to the opposite sex, but I think that's...
My husband and I are working our way through all his shows -- he looks like he's from today, not 1997-1999!! It's funny seeing him next to people who are firmly planted in the 1990s.
Ahead of his time!! :D
No, TIME TRAVELER!!! lol
More "unpopular" opinions:
I think Joan Crawford is a beauty even in old age.
I like Virginia Rappe
I think Louise Brooks is overrated, but only because pretentious "film students" think she is so great. In my opinion, she's just another silent film actress that didn't quite make it...
I don't find her attractive. I'm not into "delicate beauties." I love the offbeat and/or sharp-featured beauty of Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow, Joan Blondell, Aline MacMahon, Glenda Farrell, Lola Lane, and Kay Francis. The most beautiful actresses, in my opinion.
Lombard used to annoy me (and I still find her annoying in Godfrey), but for the most part she grew on me.
I don't find Garbo mysterious. I find her dull.
I find Dietrich to be a phony.
Can't stand anything about Vivien Leigh.
Hate Gone With The Wind *yawn*
Audrey Hepburn annoys...
NO WAY. If I could "vacation" in the past I would, but only to be able to come back and brings today's money with me.
I rather like tampons, birth control, my college education, my black friends, my iPod so i can listen to OTR anywhere, and I wouldn't want to toil in a factory my whole life...
Word. lol I said WORD!
Anyway, some of the handwriting in these yearbooks *is* actrocious! Maybe I haven't been scanning the right pages, but some I can't even decipher. Some signatures look like straight lines with a curl upwards every so often. Some signatures are so sloppy!
I used...
More 1936
"Buzz" on the bottom there has terrible grammar! What on earth is a "goin"?? lol lol lol Oh, did he mean goin' ?? G-dropping and all. Tsk Tsk!
I have more from various 1930s yearbooks. People back then couldn't spell, either. Nothing new.
