I feel the same. I refer to these types of haouses as "Pop-Up Houses" because the seem to POP UP overnight in any open field in New Jersey. lol
My building was built in 1926-29. Some of the walls are so hard we had trouble hammering in nails for simple photographs. Some of the walls are a...
lol
I think I might have the same movie recorded and never watched. I've recently been going through my unwatched DVDs and came across this one. I put it in the pile to watch. I've been putting it off -- I find most full-length movies from this time period (1912-1916ish) to be unwatchable.
Lil Armstrong
Valaida Snow
The Bird & The Bee (does Hall & Oates!)
Al Bowlly (as always -- my favourite singer!)
At this very second, "Dust Cake Boy" by Babes In Toyland is playing on my iPod. lol
Sugar In My Bowl and Ride Daddy Ride, two compilation CDs of "vintage songs about sex."
The funny part -- the default genre tag in iTunes for both of these CDs was "Religious" lol
Listened to them (on mp3, though!) Oh I LOVED them!! That slide whistle was amusing. I have never heard of them before -- gave them a "shot" lol
HEZZIE, ARE YOU READY!!??
Last night I watched a cute little film called There Goes My Heart (1938) with Virginia Bruce, Fredric March, and Patsy Kelly.
I've seen so many movies with this plotline made AFTER THE CODE -- I can't get enough of it! A department store heiress (Virginia) runs away from her rich...
Haha! Oh dear -- we did that in high school. The whole "You listen to that?!" thing. Or even better (worse?): "You DON'T listen to that?" (me with the Greatful Dead). If you liked metal, that was it. If you liked alternative, that was it. If you liked both you were considered a "poser"...
I noticed this article wasn't getting much traffic in the OBsBar and I know a lot of you ladies don't even go outside the PR so here is an article on "New Old" ladies clothing:

Music is Who I Am. My first memories involve music and certain songs will instantly take me back to certain points in my life. It's always been there for me. It's my obsessive hobby.
I did use it as a "club" when I ws younger, but I've outgrown that. I like so many genres now I *can't* be...
And here are some unpopular opinions:
I like these songs:
"I Just Called To Say I Love You" (Stevie!)
"You're The Inspiration" (Chicago)
"Say You Will" (Foreigner)
"Take It On The Run" (REO Speedwagon)
"Look Away" (Chicago)
I like 80s CHICAGO! I like Peter Cetera, too. We share a...
Talking to a co-worker today whose mother was born in 1920, one of FOURTEEN children. She was telling me some tales of the Depression.
For Christmas they would get oranges and apples.
The children had to alternate days when they would eat. One meal a day was all they would get (on their...
