It's getting there! Yes E is where it's at at the moment and I agree it will look better with 5 large buttons. B2 but without the waist band since the front design doesn't have a bottom band.
On photos yes it does seem a bit small but I think it's also because of having side panels that make it seem smaller. It's still a working design so it's easy to chop and change. How will the back of the jacket look?
Either way 5 or 6 buttons would do just fine. I think if you want that specific pocket design maybe do away with the bottom waist band so it's cleaner looking?
It's a good start! I feel like having 6 buttons on a jacket looks better than just 5. Hmm maybe the hand warmer design could use some touching up? Maybe it looks a little busy on the bottom of the front of the jacket
It's made in Indonesia by a company called Junkard. Most Indonesian boot makers offer Badalassi/Shinki/Horween/CF Stead/Maryam/Cloe so it depends on what style you're going for. My preferred maker from there is Benzein as they make cool sleek lookin boots that uses lasts that works for me.
Thanks man! Greg is just out of this world, so glad he started his own business and now doing his own thing. If you want a slim fitting bespoke shinki jacket, you know where to go.
Ooooooh that's just a wonderfully designed jacket with an outstanding choice of leather with a lovely shade of brown! The fit is perfect, it should relax over time! Congratulations man, you totally nailed your first jacket! Can't wait to see the Heron! Cheers
Thank you, I am buzzing too as this is just done expertly by a Master craftsman! For me Greg is already up there with superior makers, I'm blessed he was happy to take this project on. I'm sure it will fit perfectly, this is my 2nd jacket with him and we had a mock up jacket done before the...
Thank you @HoosierDaddy ! Would never have thought of buying anything other than black/brown before but it's a slippery slope. . . Now I'm wondering about a tan/natural and maybe even green/blue in the future hmmmm lol
Highlighting the work of Greg at FL making this killer custom piece made of full aniline black shinki w/ Nickle hardware for me (FW caboose inspired front/RMC disfarmer inspired back/zipper closure gauntlet sleeves). Should be delivered later next week.
The break in continues w/ the tumbled cordovan premier HWM w/ zip sleeves. I got a deep shade of burgundy which I preferred. Mixed smooth and heavy grains too so it's interesting to wear.
I need better denim though. . .
I'm sure they make great jackets with high end leather selection. Looks like they also have a great social media advertising strategy and makes frequent collaborations with your smaller niche heritage based stores. The SB of today definitely knows how to work the market/crowd but having read up...
I get what you mean! I was caught in the rain a month or so ago and my jacket darkened after. The rolls/creases got much more interesting too. I wish mine had a real collar like yours!
Got it! He did mention that he will only order a small batch of that oil tanned shinki to see how uniform the hide is. I'm sure yours will turn out even better than your perfect jacket! I hope he offers it to everyone later on as I want to have a dark brown oil tanned shinki buttoned up Cossack...
Same here. People like us have the finest impulse control lol given too much time and how easy it is to look up items of interest spells lots of trouble indeed.
That will be the day! Can't wait for that to come, it can't come soon enough.
