I agree Carlos - I'd hoped that washing would leak the brown dye into the woollen knits but sadly they stayed green. There's a thread somewhere on replacing knits either here or on VLJ- that may be my next experiment.

Thanks - at least I can bring myself to wear it now - before it was a bit too 'High Street/Mall jacket' but now it looks quite vintage. I read somewhere that the RRL range is or was originally based on vintage originals? If it's true it's a pity they don't have a web page showing the originals...
I bought this on eBay a few months ago but found it too shiny and much too khaki, As it was only £75 I decided to experiment. I deglazed it with Fiebings deglazer and then dyed it with Fiebings Professional Oil Dye. I found the result still a bit too shiny so I washed it in the machine on a...
I saw a grey leather flight suit - at the Lincoln Antiques Fair a one piece with the 'jacket' part looking like this one but continuing down into trousers with a crotch to throat length zip - sorry I didn't take a picture...

Great advice I've just got to that point- the last three eBay buys have been disappointing and I should have kept the cash in the bank and worn my earlier buys on a rota. It's time to sell the unwanted ones!

If it's the capillary fill version it can be flushed using the rubber bulb of an old bicycle horn or similar rubber bulb or a syringe with a rubber hose attached. -fit the bulb or hose over the capillary tube and section and squeeze and then release the bulb to suck and then blow a weak cool...
Hmmm- Rudie I think you'll be fine. Its a brand new cable knit sweater with loads of natural elasticity I can easily extend the sleeve length to 30" with no effort. I order my Aero jackets with a 26" sleeve and I can roll back the cuffs on this sweater - as in the pics- As I suggested above...
It's the full length on a brand new sweater unworn, unturned and unstretched, - remember they're knitted so they naturally stretch out longer when your arm is inside, unlike leather jacket sleeves. If you're worried they are too short for you then email North Sea and ask them- they responded to...
the same seller has another in a 42" so check his other items too.

I've just received my first purchase (a Marine in blue) from North Sea Clothing - they've got a sale on so lots of stuff half price - still pricey at £75 for a jumper but great quality and a nice snug fit with plenty of stretch built in and I'm really pleased with the sleeve and body length. I...
I use l'Occitane shaving soap in a bowl and my (inherited from my wife's grandpa), Old Spice shaving scuttle. I'm not sure I would have bought the soap untested given its high price but it was a present from my sister for my 60th. When it finally runs out I'll get a refill as it provides a...
It's a perfect fit - designed to be worn with higher rise trousers than we generally wear today. I wear mine with a pair of Wrangler 13MWZ jeans - high rise 'cowboy cut' - no longer sold I the UK but turn up on eBay.co.uk. They are however still available in the U.S. So there are lots on...
Got this from a Facebook share - one of the '7 rules of life' -

No worries - you just find the item in classic eBay select and copy the address from the window at the top of the screen and then paste it into a reply on the thread.
