I bought this on eBay a few months ago but found it too shiny and much too khaki, As it was only £75 I decided to experiment. I deglazed it with Fiebings deglazer and then dyed it with Fiebings Professional Oil Dye. I found the result still a bit too shiny so I washed it in the machine on a gentle wash. Its now an even darker brown suede sheepskin look with a few darker shiny spots that look like age related patina - what do you think? (the first pic is the after shot).http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums...A-D9C9-4F87-94A2-EB7FF6C3CB37_zpsjmz65sqk.jpg

Thanks - at least I can bring myself to wear it now - before it was a bit too 'High Street/Mall jacket' but now it looks quite vintage. I read somewhere that the RRL range is or was originally based on vintage originals? If it's true it's a pity they don't have a web page showing the originals.
It was fun practicing the techniques too.

That looks much better! Nicely done...

It would look even better with brown knits i think, i wonder if A1 knits would fit?

I agree Carlos - I'd hoped that washing would leak the brown dye into the woollen knits but sadly they stayed green. There's a thread somewhere on replacing knits either here or on VLJ- that may be my next experiment.
