    Getting a jacket copied

You could ask Byson Leather - they did a complex repair on a G1 for me very neatly and some of the renovations they show on their website are practically re- makes. http://www.bysonleather.co.uk

    Shrink to fit tips?

You must have seen this? http://www.aeroleatherclothing.com/upfiles/LVC%20SHRINK%20TO%20FIT%20GUIDE.PDF My Gustins recently 'benefited' from a 60 degree wash and a hot tumble dry but that's pretty drastic - they were sanforised but still shrank a bit. I did it to max the shrinkage before...

    Golden Era Dog Names

When I was growing up in the 50's and 60's the local dogs were, Penny, Trixie, Simon, Rex, Kim, Butch, Paddy and Diddy. Only my dog Kim was a pedigree and was taken for walks, the rest were mongrels and ran around the street all day without supervision. They still loved walks though , when Kim...

Please help identify this 'suit liner'

Quite well insulated. I found a few references to it by searching after posting here. Apparently it's a liner for an RAF waterproof suit for use in lifeboats.

How many jackets do you have to sew to be an expert?

What I found rather sad was that during the rather vitriolic Aero Threads 1 and 2 argument and testosterone took over and they didn't do the usual kind and traditional thing and wish a happy birthday to members whose birthdays are listed on the day at the bottom of the home page - I noticed...

    Aero Windward

I've read somewhere that a number of makers made this style. I've got one with a Cooper label. Does anyone know who else made similar jackets and also did Montgomery Ward make their own jackets or did they commission them?

    Aero Leather Clothing trial update

The good news (from the horses mouth - just had an email from him relating to this bit of the thread), is that Ken Calder is now starting to think seriously about making a test coat of the RFC design. He's had an original in his archive for some time.

    Unknown rolled gold proppelling pencil

It's in the style of a 'Yard o Lead' propelling pencil but lots of manufacturers produced a similar style.
