We had an aluminum tree with a funny aluminum light, that had a disc with different color plastic wedges that rotated, giving different colors on the tree. I think that was 1966, I do remember for sure, the cat threw up a bunch of the aluminum strands!
I forgot to mention, I got the roof done yesterday, after wasting another whole day, he knocked of $80.00 for my troubles. It rained heavily from the time his helper was finishing up, until early this morning, good test, no leaks. So trying to make a little lemonade out of the situation.
The season premier of The Good Witch. If you told me a decade ago, that I would be hooked on this series, well, I won't say what I would have told you since this is a family forum!
Not completely true. While it is true, you can not just pull up and fill your new car with leaded fuel, you can still purchase race fuel with lead, from 87 octane to as much as 115/145 in jerrycans or drums. There is also 100LL, or low lead for airplanes.
Yes cavalry holsters were worn on the right hip so the wearer could draw his pistol with his left hand and have the saber in his right. By the end of the American Civil War, the saber had become almost useless, very few men used them, since repeating pistols and rifles had become much more wide...
After I cancelled a credit card a few years ago, my credit ratting went way down! I always payed it off in full every month without fail. Absolutely ridiculous.
Got up bright and early this morning for the roofers. Waited and waited, finally called them at 11:30, said they would be here around 1:30. No show, then he said 3:00-3:30, I said can you finish it in a couple of hours, he said yes. 4:00 still no roofers, called him again, said it would be first...
The only way to disable a pistol, is to get the web between your thumb and index finger between the hammer and firing pin. Difficult, and not recommended, but not impossible. Before you say bunk, September 5, 1975, Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme, pointed a Colt 1911 .45 at President Gerald Ford and...
I think you are giving the boys way to much credit! As I pointed out, our trolley never made a profit after 1911, and I suspect, it wasn't very profitable before that, hence the mergers. It didn't take the boys from marketing to sell people on the cheap Model T. Before the automobile, it was a...
Our trolley system was started in 1887, horse drawn of course, but by 1890 all were electric. In 1902 the three competing systems merged and had a brief golden age, peaking in 1911. After that, it never made a profit! In 1916 they had 56 motor cars, not bad for a population of 35,000. On April...
Genius. A mini series about Albert Einstein. Not bad, but I hate the concept of bouncing back and forth in time! I know, "the dividing line between past, present, and future is an illusion".
Princess Kaiulani, originally titled The Barbarian Princess! A movie about Victoria Kawēkiu Kaʻiulani Lunalilo Kalaninuiahilapalapa Cleghorn (October 16, 1875 – March 6, 1899) Sad how we annexed Hawaii!
