well, like I said, if it's because you want custom (certain design, certain specs where OTS won't fit, having fun with the designs, etc.) of course. But if you chasing these because of the leather, well, just look to our classifieds. Most Schotts can be had for $300-400 range. A lot of...
reminds me of that suede treatment I just did. I know you having fun and that's what's most important. And actually looks good. But for people just trying to find a nice jacket at 300-350 price point, I guess higher now with CXL and horse upgrades, I think there's an easier path though...
nothing looks better than CXL imo if what you want is like a vintage, worn in sort of style. But it's not comfortable necessarily. It's loaded with wax so it's super stiff if you're wearing in a cold weather climate. And obviously you won't wear much in a warm weather climate. But the...
the vintage cross zips I have are typically on the slimmer side. usually the cafe racers I've had have had issues with "poofy" sleeves. The main issue with vintage is the shorter length and shorter sleeves, generally speaking of course.
I figured that 42 was going to big as that's pretty much...
can't tell you how tempted I am to buy this. Last thing I need as my 25th jacket is a shearling lined, living in Los Angeles, going into 100 degree + weather. LOL.
this one looks like a 519 but collab so has different liner. Might be a tad big on you though.

This also looks really cool and probably will fit you perfect. You can order stars for the epaulettes from Schott.
Vintage 1980s SCHOTT 518 Black Leather...
If I felt confident I could dye this black, I'd buy it as my second one. It's such a great jacket and amazing price. Not sure why you're having problems selling it. I guess the padding is a little more flashy for some, but the cut, fit, leather, everything on this is so dang cool.
yep. Aniline cowhide. So unfinished. Bad for riding probably, but IMO good for fashion. Breaks in pretty fast, will feel like nice lamb skin after like 10 wears, but super thick. you'll get some nice creases and sort of "micro" grain, but nothing like CXL, etc.
during covid, stuck at home, when I woke up, I'd put the jacket on and then wear until about lunch time. Every day I would lay flat and roll it up into a log, folding the arms in on themselves. Then "squish" it with my knees a dozen times. wash, rinse, repeat.
Brand new:
Handful months later:
that's about as good as you can get on a stock Schott. I'm 10 lbs heavier than you, so I either have to squeeze into a medium or usually I buy the large and shrink it down a half size with some "hand vintaging" lol.
I'm not a big fan of this button style, otherwise I would have been all in on...
If it's going to get a lot of wears, go for the non tumbled. I broke my Sheene down in less than a year wearing 4-5 hours a day, rolling it up into a ball, etc. Took about 4 or 5 months. It's probably 80% at this point. Very soft, color shading is gorgeous, more form fitting, etc. Wish it...
I dont mind the new ads. People got a right to make some money. But site performance has gone to heck ever since. Threads take longer to load, posts disappear, keep getting errors.
Thanks. they're still there, but obviously with the darker brown and the highlights and various shades of brown, it blends more, and looks like more of the bigger vision. If you're looking straight at it and know what to look for, you'll spot them. But yeah, at least it's wearable now (well...
Tag size 40
Ptp 21.25
Shoulder 18.5
Back 23.5
Sleeve 23
Btw, it's a Schott rancher tag. Cant tell how old. I'd say at least 15 years.
Edit. Actually it's "Western" tag not rancher. Think these are older which makes sense. If it's more vintage size, no wonder didnt fit. I can wear 38 on...
Nice tip. I'm still brushing it to get the fluffy nap back and got most of it. But theres a few stubborn loose fibers here and there. I'll give a try. I might hit the red with some brown dye directly but tbh, it's not bad as is.
I wish I could capture the color better, it's almost like...
Thinking this might be big for me with the lighter leather. What's your weight and height jpk? I just got done saying it was too long for you on other thread lol. Didn't realize it's this jacket.
Picked this up via buyee for pretty cheap. I knew it had a red stain in a prominent area and was hoping I could minimize, but alas no good. It's also a full size too small for me. So after multiple attempts to wash, scrub, scrape, etc. I got creative. In person it looks amazing. Like 10...
