one piece meaning what? No center seam? Or just one big panel (no kidney, no gussets, no yoke, etc.)?
My 666 style schott from the 70sish has a kidney panel and shoulder gussets, but no center seam or yoke. Same with my 641xx (probably early 2000s) which is based on the 666.
Thanks on both counts. The art is a piece from my wife. She got back into it during the covid boredom. She's doing really well and started doing commissioned portraits lately. I keep asking her to do one of those funny dog paintings where you superimpose the head over a famous painting lol...
I know you would. you're my inspiration ;);)
Seriously, the fact that you got so many jackets living in Hawaii. Every time I was like do I really need another jacket living in Los Angeles. I was like, hell ya, Jonesy has several living in Hawaii.
90ish degrees today. I will not be denied. The Cal goes well with shorts I find. And who cares if it doesn't :p:cool: Yellow, the pooch, indifferent as always.
Superb. Nice roll of the dice. Fortune favors the bold. Sometimes you just got to say wtf, life is too short. I got something coming that I know will need some work, but I'm hoping just a little scrub and wash to get a really cool jacket for the price of dinner.
now that is super cool. Love that kind of shade of brown. Alright, putting on watch list and see if it gets any action. If it's usual vintage sizing, probably too small for me.
Yes. Very thick, supple leather. I wish I had enough variety of brands to compare it to, but nothing comes to mind. Not sure how it's going to age. Definitely different than the vintage stuff, almost sort of "puffy" if that makes sense-- thick, has some give, very soft. I know Gwen (the...
Yep. It's real.
That's a lot of details for someone to fake. And as a few of us have been talking about lately, Schotts lose a lot of value, especially on the basic models. So no sense to spend time faking those. Not enough return on investment.
I remember seeing this jacket on Ebay. I almost bought it just for the collar LOL. It's a really nice one. If it had the original talon zips, I wouldve put in a few bids for sure. Based on the pulls from the pockets, can't tell if they're original, but probably a 60/70s model.
A full liner...
awesome. Killer deal.
Mine is 50k and I confirmed was made oct 2000. It's not an exact science, but some rough math, figure about 2-3k jackets per year.
The numbers can get screwy with a custom or collab, but a basic OTS model should adhere to the sequential number. You can always ping...
I visited the cal leathers shop a few months back. There were some good replies in that thread with various info. Search under my name and "visit" or something to that effect. Sorry, on mobile right now, otherwise I'd try and pull up.
edit: here's a cool one too about a 50's one I found...
hmmm. you feel like the 118 is short at 6'0? I almost feel like mine is slightly long LOL. I guess everyone's taste is different.
I'm trying to remember whether my 519 is longer. I think it might be slightly. Maybe check that one out. There's one for sale here in classifieds at good...
I did. Thanks for watching my back :D Definitely made me pause. Looks more like a scuff not all the way through. But so hard to tell from photos and can't reach out to seller since it's via a proxy. If it drops down to $100 I might chance it.
