Definitely a bold hat.
I probably won't keep this one, but I couldnt resist the opportunity to see how one of these looks on me. Labeled as depression era which I'm inclined to believe, cool pattern on this one.

Neat little hat.

Knox Vagabond and a very nice palm braid Stetson Medalist.
Almost put in a bid on this one but it wouldnt have mattered because there were clearly people watching who knew what a good score this was and...

Either fur, or silk plush. It's not in the listing but i've already contacted the seller about the size.

Great shade of blue on this one.
I figured that might be the case, only I thought it might have originally been a brown one.
Either way, the color its taken on now is really nice, not too mention that delightful tall crown and swoopy brim.
I've never done a complete one myself, i've just done the occasional stitch or two on a loose one. A full replacement would require a bit of skill to put it lightly, if you have the sewing aptitude, the link below has instructions on how to do it yourself. If not i'm sure theres a hatmaker who'd...
It's a 7 1/8. After trying on the Knox Homburg it became pretty readily apparent that while i'm a 7 1/8 for a Bowler, in a soft felt hat i'm an even 7.
I'll give it a shot, but the Knox already ends up resting a bit more on my ears than i'd like at times. But I put up with it cause I love that...
Stetson Royal Deluxe Vita-felt
I already know this one will be a bit too big for me, so i'll more than likely put it on the classifieds. But I couldnt pass up a chance to see the difference in felt quality between the Vitafelt and the Knox in Black Cherry I have.

Without a doubt one of coolest i've seen one on ebay so far. If it was my size i'd be all over it.
Sweet looking hats worn by all today. SBG great pictures as usual, its always nice to be able to get a sense of the true color of a hat when you have such a natural contrast available.
Chepstow, I wish I could wear a Homburg with as much authority as you pull off.
Splinter, one of my all...

From back when they actually made a proper bowler.
Patey Hunting Bowler.
This ones an odd bird. I changed out the ribbon because it had a slight discoloration and because along with the brim bindings appears to be made out of the same material they use for straps on backpacks.
Bottom of the brim is a different material, it looks like the...
The hunting and dressage bowlers have their purpose, but I agree that it makes no sense to have a city bowler with the same features. My Stetson standard is my lightest and by far most comfortable for a full days wear. I havent had a chance to feel the weight of one of the superlight melones but...
Yea its unfortunate that while manufacturing exhibited a far higher level of standard of quality in earlier times, accuracy in advertising however I guess will forever remain unchanged.
So far the lightest bowler I have has been 130 grams. I think you're correct on american makers not being able to get theirs much lighter than that.
I did see an interesting article concerning Woodrow bowlers advertising a 3oz model.

Them fedoras are a beaut Mr. Durand.
Thats a diamond in the rough Justin, that looks like it'll clean up nice.
I almost sent you a link to those velours Mayser, but I figured you were already well appraised of the situation.
