Advice on choosing vintage fabric
I am getting ready to make two 1940's (war time) dresses I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to select vintage appropriate fabrics.
I have a feeling that a lot of the women during WW2 would have a similar wish list to mine and there would be only one things on it. To have the man who holds my heart home.
So today I went out with a friend and she requested I go completely modern with my attire. So here it is. I did still maintain my vintage-y hair but this is modern as I get. What do you think?
I am a 40's girl myself with a bit of the late 30's thrown in there too. But that being said I love you in the 20's, and that's saying a lot. I usually find the 20's to be unflattering but it looks very nice on you. I say go with the 20's and go with red hair. But then again i am partial to red...
Tattoo covering is tricky. After I saw this post last night I tried a few of the different methods on my tattoo. I have a largeish tattoo on my left thigh. It is mostly teal, green, cobalt and a bit of purple. managed to make it disappear but because I am so pale I had a very large orange blob...

That is an easy one, the fabulously wonderful Rita Hayworth. She was phenomenal, and is my idol in many ways. And since the wording was favorite star not favorite picture of favorite star here are a few.
Ladies thank you. I love that dress it makes me feel like Rita Hayworth. And if I don't get to wear it for Christmas I might just have to insist me and my boyfriend do something dressy for New Years.
I bought this last year to wear to a formal holiday occasion at my boyfriends base in Japan, I even got fabulous red satin peep toes shoes to go with it. A week before I left the moved the date of the event up a few days and it wound up being the on the day I was flying out there :eusa_doh: . So...

And I am also a huge sucker for a flight suit (not sure if it is vintae) But it causes major swooning here.
I am 5'9" so I am quite tall, when I went to Japan last year I felt like I stood out like a sore thumb being so tall and then having my boyfriend with me who makes me look like a tiny person. I was interesting. I think i might have to look into things like that website, I would definately find...

I know what bag balm is and why it has a cow on the jar. It's utter cream my friend used to have me help her put it on the cows then their utters were sore form milking them. I am actually allergic to it and my hands used to get hives for days from it. But my mom says it is fabulous stuff too
