I agree. My Cavanagh and the new Knox both have a similar weave. However, the Knox straw is a little smaller, so the weave is a little tighter. I'm getting the bug for more. :)
They were both affordable finds, but I'm noticing that more and more boaters are creeping up in price. :(

I like what you did the with crease and pinch, Jeff. The lighting in your pic really shifted the color a lot warmer than usual. Your Virtuoso usually looks much lighter. Isn't that a bone colored felt?
I'm a little late for a Memorial Day submittal, but here are a few from last weekend. I enjoyed wearing a Champ Panama [nude] beater the whole weekend; perfect for the 3-day rest fest. Took a lite excursion on Saturday down the Chestatee River in Dahlonega, GA with some friends. The water was...
A humble 'hats off' to all of you for the great hats of late and the wonderful comments!! :yo:
I finished the day yesterday with a new [to me] Knox boater. It's very similar to the Cavanagh; though, it has an outward taper that I really like. Since they're both similar (black ribbons), I...
People,
Every so often, there comes a nice hat for a great price. This is one of those hats. Silverbelly (goes with just about anything), thin ribbon (can be worn casual or dressy), and very few (1) flaws. Oh, and it has a bound edge for a finished look.
I am bumping this post, because...
Thanks, Harv!! It was my fist custom hat. Parker made a beauty.
Back at'cha with that stylin' Simonds cap! I really like the wool, he did a great job.

Nice crease on that Caxton, Strapped! I'm not big on straws in the rain, either.
The Fed IV is always a celebrated hat on this forum! Nice. :thumb:
The Fashion is running heavy on the "Deluxe" today, Greg!! Thanks for sharing.
Great hat, Fruno! The pin is the finishing touch. :)...
Thanks for posting these AWESOME pics, Jeff!! What a treat to visit a hatter like Gary. I wanted to stop in his shop the last time I was in Buffalo, visiting my extended family. I hope to do it again this year; we'll see. And what a cool opportunity to see Alan; unfortunately, he was out of...
Thanks, VMT2!!
Much appreciated, Eric! Just so you know, I created the Westbound'n'Down, because I was inspired by all of your fine thin ribbons. Glad to be in such great company! :thumb:
:) Kind words, sir. As I mentioned in my response to Eric, the W'n'D was inspired by so many awesome...
Thanks for the comments! The museum opened last year. My company provided all of the audio visual systems for the exhibits and event spaces. The 767 in "The Jet Age" exhibit was actually purchased by all of the employees in the early '80s. Three flight attendants led the project to raise $30...
