I've had the Columbia jacket in steer-hide and a pair of Langlitz western pants in goat and I much preferred the grain of the steer-hide to the goat. Though I never warmed up to the grain of the goat hide I think it was the better option for the pants as it was more pliable and allowed my legs...
I think the fit looks great. As for sleeve length, a sweater or hoodie on a cooler day would probably do the job. Personally, I'd rather have it be a little roomier on warmer days so that I can layer up on cooler ones. That is, unless you already have a jacket for those cooler days. :D
I tried to go for a ride today, but the rain and heavy wind blew in, so I parked the bike and decided to take some hazard waste to the community recycle event in my neighborhood. It was more productive.
What Monitor said...I'd consider a Langlitz Cascade, but I don't believe they work with Horsehide, I believe they're either steer or goat.
Here's a fine example... Of course, if you go custom rather than off the rack, you don't have to get the diamond padded elbows if you don't want.
Not really digging the Honeymooners Art Carney look, I decided to take some steam from the tea kettle and reshape the brim a little bit. Nothing too drastic.
