I shaved my moustache today. Wife did not like me in a goatee and I started hating just the moustache. Here are pics with me in a goatee coming in and then today, clean shaven, with my new fedora. I just cant seem to stop wearing it
From a distance, I dont know that you see much difference. However, the tactile sensation is not as great with the wool as it is with my Buckaroo Hatters custom I just got. My wool Bailey Yates fedora in all black is nice for a change of pace and I scotchguarded it for rain (it is litefelt...
Thanks Aaron. I get so many compliments on my Stetson Saxon at 2" and the Buckaroo Hatters hat I got made is 2 1/4" and I am so fine with that. 2 1/2 would be pushing it for me as I really think the hat wore me when my Akubra Stylemaster was worn and that was 2 5/8.
I have read a few things about a Cobra single edge blade. Any experience?
I use a Merkur-headed Edwin Jagger bulbous DE with a Feather DE blade for with the grain and against the grain passes and then sideways on face and neck, 4 passes in all. Then I use a QED shave stick and apply that tot...
No. Most men, and I am a mod over at Shavemyface.com, experience between 4 to 7 shaves with a DE blade and many toss them every Sunday just out of abundance of precaution. I use Feather blades and can get 7 to 10 shaves.
Swoop and Bowlerman, thanks for the vote of confidence. Wife thought the color was a khaki and the ribbon too thin and crown too high. I told her it is just a different look and stop trying for me to have the GQ perfect look all the time. You each confirmed that I did right. I just love...
Well, took it for a drive today wearing a suit. Wondering what the consensus is as far as how it matches or clashes with a suit, and an overcoat, and then if anyone thinks that the crown heighth is too tall. I have read that trying to wear all grey is too matchy-matchy.
Was heading over to the Courthouse today to leave an order for entry by the Judge and a 30-35'ish man, in a suit, smoking outside, looked at me and said sharp hat. Was wearing my Stetson Saxon in Caribou. I get lots of compliments on it, and I am wondering if it is the hat itself, or the fact...
Mike. I am happy that I got that straw. I envision a may to September period to wear it. Got to see the Moorelite that Mike made for himself. Very light and looked sharp
Took my new Buckaroo Hatters hat out for the full wearing, not the test drive I did after I got it yesterday:
I sent that pic to my wife. She said too tall. Heck, it is only a 1/2 inch taller than the Stetson but I guess it just seems taller. Well, I like it. Rocky and Mike would have...
I actually got two hats today. My custom fedora from Major Mike at Buckaroo Hatters was to be ready today for me to pick out the ribbon. I was between a 12 ligne (medium width ribbon ) and the thinner treatment, I think a 6 ligne. I was able to see each on a hat and for some reason, the...
Now, when I went to pick out the hat, a week or two before Thanksgiving, I had looked at some parbuntal straw hats that Mike had found that were 60 year old hat bodies. The hat body was super, super light, and not all that hard shellac that some hats are. I was worried about durability, and...
