Here are some that I have made
This one is from Decades of style, it was very easy to make. The wrap around straps were not lined so i lined them with a complementary fabric. My only complaint about this dress is that you need to put several hooks and eyes or even snaps down the back so you...
Smuterella and Kiri that is what i have been told by my grandmother, and a number of other women in my family that were alive then. But much of my family is Cuban so who knows. I think it all boils down to what you prefer an what looks best on you
Sweet Caroline Thanks, I love it so much, it is and Esther Williams suit, you can get them off her site but I recommend looking at sites like My Baby Jo because the have better pictures. It was pricey but worth every penny it is really well made. As for the dress thanks I made it.
ladies there is a company in my home town called accessories of old, I get all sorts of things from them. Everything in the store was purchased by the family in the time it was made what they are selling now is what they have always had. I go to the actual store when visit my parents but here is...
here are mine. I do a bit of modeling so some of my before photos are from now, simply because as a model you have to show that you are versatile. you can probably figure out which ones are from my modeling any how here you all go.
RockyHorror you look adorable, your hair always looks wonderful. Very nice I really enjoy seeing your hair dos, probably because I can never get the straight style to work with my naturally curly locks (I swear I am not complaining.)
Aww that reminds me of what my boyfriend says to me all the time. He says my looks may have drawn him in but it's what comes out of my mouth (aka I have at least a certain amount of intelligence) that keeps him around
I don't know how I never saw this thread until now. I am 24 and have been into vintage since since before I can really remember and I have been trying to dress like it since I was 11 or 12 in the last couple of years I have obviously been supporting myself so I have had more funds to go after...
I have an old fashioned name in fact I can think of no one under the age of 45 or 50 other than myself with it, Nancy
but I love the these girls names Katherine, Elizabeth, Joceline, and Rosalee I think they are all old fashioned
For boys I really like Joesph, Nicholas, Benjamin and James...
I cant see how it would hurt him at all. I happen to think it is attractive for people to be un-apologetically themselves. But that is just me, he needs to find the right lady. My boyfriend isn't into vintage but he likes that I am, so I would say that in a way vintage gives me some game.
As a person who has been to Japan an number of times I will back you up on the fact that they have some great things. Unfortunately as I am taller than many of the men there I certainly do not fit into anything they have to offer for the ladies. But I do admire clothes while I am visiting.
I have to agree about the Japan thing. When I visit Japan and dress the way I do people love it and they make no issue about telling you or asking for pictures. Here people may love it but they frequently think you are over dressed or stuck up.
I think it is much more popular on the west coast of the US then it is here on the East Coast. I was raised and lived in Maryland until last year and now am in Virginia, I find that it is accepted better down south. But CA has a lot more vintage then the rest of the country. But I agree the UK...
I am a mix between the Vintage Inspired and The Authentic Reproducers. I am a bit of a freak about being accurate in that I don't like to do stuff that is modern looking with my vintage looking things. I make a lot of my clothing but am not always true to vintage fabric as I really enjoy some...
