Do you think you're drawn here because of past life memories....

I've never had that experience with people. But I always get "You remind me of someone" or "you look like [insert old friend or relative name here]." For a while a bunch of people in my hometown told me I looked like a girl named "April" - whom I had never seen or met. Do you think we all...

Thinking about a tattoo, but is it what good girls did in the 1940's?

The best time for me to get a tat (in my opinion)? Why, when I get the money, of course lol ;) But my artist gives me and my husband "mates rates" which is awesome of him. He doesn't get to do very many tattoos like ours and he LOVES getting the chance to do them. He works in a small...

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

I wear cat's eyes glasses. Maybe that does it. lol No matter what we do we can't un-exude our vintageness. We might think we can do it, but we can't. lol I wear all manner of clothing from the jeans and t's to handmade 1930s dresses. All kinds of hairstyles from my straight...

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

Even when I'm wearing jeans, a girl-cut Tee, and all my tattoos are out in full glory I *still* get people telling me I remind them of "the 50s" or "ladies during the war", or as my friend once said to me, "Even when you're dressed normal you still look like you're from the 30s." lol

I'm getting so excited about my new ink!! Hurry up TWO DAYS! lol I have more planned, too. I haven't had a tattoo in about 2 years so this will rock.

I do not like swimming pools. Especially inground pools. Maybe I died in 1947 in a freak pool accident. lol

Do you think you're drawn here because of past life memories....

I have a "switch-off" point, too. About 1947ish. I like things about the following decades, but I just don't feel as connected to them as I do 1917-1947. I don't care for much of the fashion, movies or some of the music after 1947ish. This switch is off until about 1977, when I start to...

Do you think you're drawn here because of past life memories....

lol lol When I was a kid everything "old" was said to be haunted, which also made me more insterested in it. All the kids in town claimed that one of the oldest schools in my hometown was "haunted." Apparently there was a huge, framed photograph of the woman the school was named after...

Do you think you're drawn here because of past life memories....

I still do this today at age 36 lol I also make up stories about the building I live in. Built in 1926, I just recently discovered a rotting ballroom, beauty salon, and squash court in the basement (urban exploring one night!) So now when I'm in the basement I pretend "Betty and Harry" and...

Movies that make you laugh out loud....

Just Imagine (1930)! El Brendel gets me every time. Also a large assortment of 1930s and 1940s exploitation flicks make me lol The Wedding Singer (1998). I like Adam Sandler's friend with the 'stache and the MJ jacket, the brother-in-law (best actor in the whole film!), and the Boy...

Do you think you're drawn here because of past life memories....

Very good question! Probably no one here. There's a 12 year age gap bewtween my parents. My dad was always about the 40s and 50s. My mom was always ultra-modern and tried so hard to keep up with the Joneses. My dad always watched old movies on TV and listened to old music. My mom tried to...

Thinking about a tattoo, but is it what good girls did in the 1940's?

When I go get my tattoo on Tuesday I'm making an appointment for yet another one: I like this design so much I actually don't want to change anything about it. I've always loved Katy Keene, but could never find a good, tattoo-able picture of her. This modern rendition will have to do.

Do you think you're drawn here because of past life memories....

I've thought about this a lot! Ever since I was a kid I've liked "old" things, but didn't really know why. I was obsessed with old buildings and movies in particular. I used to play "dress up" and I would look like a total early-20s flapper, unbeknownst to me at the time. I'd wear a...

Thinking about a tattoo, but is it what good girls did in the 1940's?

I'm getting a new one on Tuesday, which is my 36th birthday. Only I'm getting yellow roses around her and the name JEAN (1911-1937) in the heart. Might change up some of the colours, too. And I want a little tattoo on her shoulder, but Jean Harlow didn't have any tattoos lol So I am...

    Eyebrow question for red heads

I'm a natural redhead with see-through blonde brows. I use MAC's "Strut" eyebrow pencil. I like bold makeup, though, and love the drawn-on eyebrow look. Much better than my real brows (which are barely there, there's nothing to "fill in", and people don't seem to understand this!!)

Right around the corner from me. Went on my jog and there it was! Luckily, our power was not affected by this. I didn't even know it happened until I jogged around the block!
