    Hi ProtienNerd, here's what mine looked like straight out of the box. Kind of 'flat' in appearance; And after a little shaping. It's a subtle difference & I note that I seem to prefer the opposite shape to most. I tend to curve mine outwards, rather than a mini ski slope shape.

I couldn't be happier & the fit is exactly as I wanted, a trim, close fittig jacket with classical lines & no fuss with buckles etc. Here's some answers to your questions; I ordered 26.5" & it arrived with 26.25", well within acceptable tollarances...

    Whilst no expert, I would imagine that a new jacket would 'relax' over time which may give the impression that it had stretched. I dare say though, that this would be quite different from actually stretching upwards a whole size. I say buy what fits now, not what you hope to fit in the future.

    Come on people! The horses, cows, goats etc. that donated the hides for these luxurious pleasures spent their lives outside in the fields. I doubt that a little rain here and there will do any real damage. The damage is usually done in the drying out process by an ill-informed owner.
