The jacket actually looks even better then before (and absolutely no shrinkage!). The grain really "pops" after a wetting-down, and I've never been one to do any kind of hot-water treatment (I prefer to break in a jacket just by wearing it in all sorts of weather). A good rain storm will work...
Best leather jacket I've ever had in the rain was a LW HH A-2. The super-thick, chrome tanned horsehide kept me totally dry, even in torrential rainstorms.
With all the public relations/potential sales coming via the internet, imagine how BK could benefit if they had a dedicated, full-time rep (like ELC does through their US rep, Charles DiSipio, for example). Someone to answer general questions like sizing and options and leather choices. Someone...
Great movie! By 1944 the USAAF had transitioned to issuing the cloth B-10 and B-15 jackets so perhaps stocks of leather A-2's were quite sparse? It may have been easier to get the actors of the movie custom-made civilian A-2 "clone" jackets. I believe that they used later model C and D bombers...

Only $59 for this brand new Alpha MA-1 TT (special slim fit model). I paid $140 and had it shipped from Germany. My loss is your gain! Thanks for looking, gentlemen.

I have a G&B Mountain Cloth A-2 in navy blue with Thinsulate lining. Very comfortable, easy-wear, easy-care jacket. At a glance it could pass for cotton since it's not shiny or overly slick to the touch. A great spring jacket fabric.
I also have a Cockpit vintage G-1 in their washed goatskin (very grainy with burnishing and a lot of patina). GREAT jacket! Truly looks like a 1950's vintage G-1. However, the standard mil-spec Cockpit G-1 is also nice (I have one of those as well, to which I've added a few patches).
I hear ya Big J. And if one believes in an afterlife, there will come a reckoning for all that we have done.
Not to get all theological on the subject :-)
We were talking about Indiana Jones and got off on a tangent.
There are so many uplifting stories of veterans of WWII who meet their former enemies years later at reunions or commemorative events and talk to one another and share their stories. It was great to hear of Marines and Japanese veterans of the battle of Iwo Jima meeting up and bonding over...
Thanks Bunyip! Patience is a virtue :D
@Tropicalbob: I e-mailed Sal at LD before I ordered and referenced the fit of Levi's 501's. I went with my 501 size, 38 waist, 34 length. The LD fit spot on.
Two weeks after I placed my order, I also ordered a pair of boot cut 15oz LD (got an order number...
The A-2 is supposed to be a fitted jacket where the waistband covers the belt. I would imagine it should fit a tad shorter then a half-belt so 26" may be the way to go. I'm 6' 1" and I like my A-2 right at 27".
Afew pics of my recently arrived LD 15 oz jeans. Quality construction and good stitching. Also white cotton backing in the rear pockets (nice touch). I really wish their production/output could keep up with the order backlog.
I hope everyone gets either their order or their refund in a timely...
