Hello all.
(I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask about in the FL, if worng just drop a line).
I got this image in an once very popular magazine, 1938. It shows a novelty - a german typewriter that could be ordered with the owner's calligraphy. The typewriter has german keyboard (the...
"The Typewriter Revolution" by Richard Polt.
Of course there are much in the book about old typewriters. But catched my attention the way Mr Polt thinks about social media and its effects over people. His criticism make me remember Umberto Eco's. And how the return to old-fashioned, analogic...
Olivetti Studio 42, from late 30s. A very very fine typewriter!
I bought this after this photo. He is my grandfather, and worked with the same model (plus a Remington) for over 30 years. This photo is from 1964.
Leica IIIa with VISOM (universal viewfinder).
Curious acessory for Leica called FOOVA, to wind film into the metal cassettes. It's the only practical way do load the cassettes with movie film, as I usually do (with Eastman Double-X). It's from 1938.

I live in São Paulo City, Brazil. I can write and read perfectly in English and Portuguese.
Tks!
Orlando Silva would turned 100 years old ten days ago. He was terribly popular in 30s and 40s. Musical tastes in 60s and a epic ammount of alcohol put him in the shadows. I like his singing a lot.

Coffee (at least here) was called the "beverage of hospitality". And a fine coffee - dark, strong, hot - is always good. It's relaxing. One of my greatest pleasures in to write by night, with a big and warm bottle of coffee, together with cigarettes.
By the...
When I decided not to give a penny for other's opinions about! :D
Now hats become common here. But when I started using hats, almost impossible to find another user. Specially at my age.
I got a Royal portable from 1929. It went to the technician and now is back. But I think it is too heavy to write. The technician told me that this model is just this way. I really don't believe. Anyone here can tell me about how this model is to write?
An interesting discussion.
Crime, drugs, etc, always existed. But long time ago they were exceptions. And a behavior that everybody didn't think correct. That's why cocaine and marijuana were legal until 20s/30s - at least here in Brazil, don't know when in USA) but just few folks used them...

Part of a series of photos I took for a magazine. This old gentleman was the editor-in-chief of a very very important newspaper in Brazil in 50s.
(Took these photos of a 30s Leica).
