I was watching some Twilight Zone episodes the other day and ran across The Grave, starring Lee Marvin. What an awesome Montana Peak! I think I'm going to have to find a hat with a tall enough crown to replicate that!

Nothing quite like adding a comment to a seven year old thread!
While it's true that Hugo Boss company produced uniforms for the SS and many other factions of the Nazi party, the credit for the design of the SS uniform goes to SS-Oberführer Karl Diebitsch and graphic designer Walter Heck...
Went to a Cowboy shoot last weekend, the first one in a few years. Tried out the new Stetson Austral and despite the 90F temp, the faux leather sweatband wasn't bad at all. Will probably change that out at some point.
I've had these Buffalo Runner boots with the mule ears for many years and...
Many places in Michigan, Wisconsin and Maine claim that as well as far as PB's hometown.
@LizzieMaine - LOL, I don't think they were trying for a fez, but it sure looks like it.
Weather Report and Return to Forever remain favorites of mine too. Saw Weather Report in the late 70s and Jaco Pastorius was amazing.
For variety I recommend an internet MyRadio station out of the Ukraine, Jazz-Rock Fusion. There is a mobile app for your smart phone for listening in the...
Great thread! There were two classic Tiki bars/restaurants in Detroit where I grew up, the Chin Tiki and Mauna Loa. Unfortunately, I was too young to have gone to either. The Chin Tiki actually held out for quite a long time until its demise. The Mauna Loa was absolutley phenomenal by all...

Decided I wanted to change out the hat band on my Snowy River and I ran across these on Amazon. Predicted shipping was weeks out but it came in only 7 or 8 days from Oz.

My girls took me out for lunch and a matinee movie. I had a burrito with farm fresh veggies/Angus ground beef and a side of kale in peanut sauce slaw. :)
Thanks! Whiskers are still there, I've just been trimming them down to a #1 Wahl length recently to do something different. They really are invisible in that pic, aren't they?
I understand that you prefer fur felt (who doesn't?) but for your other requirements, have you considered a crushable hat? The ones I have owned have been wool felt as I assume they need to be in this category but bounce back to life from harsh storage.
