Just talking about the sound track this morning. Is there anything they haven't screwed-up? Personally I haven't decided if I want to see it just because of the train-wreck I expect it to be or to stay away in protest of the way the story has been bastardized. Why can't the story translate...
Well done, Chasseur. Glad to see your not afraid to burn some power and put the old gal back into service. Too many old guns like yours have been religated wall-hanger status. Cheers!
The answer is probably dependent upon the particular yarn used the texture of which varies. My charcoal is stiff course yarn and is going to be tough as nails. I haven't had the chance to wear it much but when I have it's been with just a t-shirt and I haven't noticed the sweater being itchy...
Corresponded early last week with Peter and ordered a charcoal chunkie. Unbelievably the sweater arrived here in Michigan today and I am very happy. The sweater is the real deal: heavy enough to be warm and feels tough enough to take honest hard wear. Exactly what I was looking for. One...
Exactly. Took my Sedgley (30-06 with a Lyman 48 peep) out back last week. Standing without a rest, in a cold stiff wind, I put three shots 1" high at 40-yards and I could cover the group with a quarter. I'm 53 and I wear tri-focals; anyone think they could do better with a $1,500 Swarovski?
Not to go on a rant here but it always cracks me up when people worry about their leather jackets and especially about their $500 engineer/work boots. Heads up: they are made to take hard ware and the elements. Best advice I ever got about my Aero jackets: wear it like you hate it and you will...
Very nice acquisition. I love shooting sporterized 1903's. Where are you in central Indiana? I shoot at the Farmland Conservation Club in Randolph County. Usually have my Sedgley or my Griffin & Howe with me.
My wife and MiL are heading to LA in mid-May and are looking for things to do involving classic old movies. Nothing too cheesy - tours by homes once owned by stars of the "golden age", locals of old landmarks, they are not interested in stuff related to today's "stars" . Suggestions?
On a...
Thanks for the suggestions. I am somewhat surprised that no one has mentioned Aero. Anyone have experience with their sweaters? If they are of the same quality as their jackets I would think they are bomb-proof.
I am tired of wearing synthetic fleece for warmth, I want a serious wool sweater; One that's tough, meant to be worn outside, in the elements. One I can wear in the woods, on streams and where ever I may travel. I have all but given up on finding what I am looking for here in the states. I am...
About 10-years ago I took the plunge and bought the classic Burberry trench - below the knees, all cotton gaberdine (Model 21?). Made in London. Even at the price it has been worth every penny. The look and lines on the coat are simply iconic and it dresses up and down with ease. When I...
For the past couple of months I have been growing a beard. I've been trimming it with scissors but it's time for an electric trimmer. There are countless trimmers on the market but I am struggling as I sort through the options. I'd like versatility quality and a relatively low cost. Any...
I think it is very difficult to compare these jackets because of the knit cuffs and waist band. A better comparison might be the Cafe and a Highwayman, similar to a Cafe but with a shirt like collar and a more forgiving fit.
Looking for a place to sell a vintage (late 60's) waist length Persian Lamb coat. Coat is in perfect condition. Mink collar with a matching mink hat. Also, ballpark value (assuming it is as represented).
Thanks,
JDG
Last summer I had the opportunity to shoot an M1 that was issued to the father of a life-long friend. For years I had admired M1's from afar so I jumped at the opportunity to actually shoot one. First clip, fired at paper plate sized target 100-yards away, standing using a post to stabalize my...
